Dennis Wise on his bike soon from executive Newcastle role

Dennis Wise's fragile hold on his position as part of the Newcastle United hierarchy is close to breaking point.

With Joe Kinnear's role extended from interim boss on a monthly deal to manager until the end of the season, as first revealed in Sportsmail five weeks ago, Wise, the executive director (football), looks likely to go in the near future.

The irony will not be lost on Kevin Keegan, who quit in September claiming he had little control over team affairs, a responsibility that at the time was shared by Wise and chief scout Tony Jimenez.

Multi-millionaire property dealer Jimenez left shortly after owner Mike Ashley and chairman Derek Llambias failed to turn up for a meeting with prospective Arab buyers which Jimenez had arranged in Dubai.

With no other potential purchasers on the horizon, Ashley will stay in control for the foreseeable future.

All I know is that Wise+Jimenez+Vertre gave us some of the best summer signings we've had in a long while.

Let's hope it was good 'ol Jeff doing all the work then.  :nile:

Yes we are bottom 4 though and thats the problem so i guess the january transfer window will be interesting.

Wasn't it the Mail who seemed to have the inside track on everything Wise-related from the moment he was mooted to be coming to us in the first place?

Keegan must be continuing to leak them inside info if you believe some on here

I always felt the information was coming from Wise/those in around Wise, to be honest, as far as the Mail was concerned at least. They were the ones who broke the story about him coming in from Leeds before anybody else and they also had some follow-up stories which seemed to have something of an inside track on the goings-on regarding Jimenez and Vetere, etc.

Nah, it was Wise telling the Mail that he couldnt work with Keegan and that the structure didnt work. Thats what people do, leak negative stories about themselves to the press.

Equally as pathetic as the stories that Kevin couldnt be bothered to turn up for meetings with Mike Ashley.

What goes around.

Keegan met Ashley in London.

another example of people being unable to look at ashley for who he is and what he does and trying to excuse his behaviour by deflecting attention and pointing to others?
