Offshore
if we're goint to put 3 in midfield i cant see it working with both zog and jonas, we're going to need 2 proper cm's to give jonas the freedom to play. Agreed. You can't have Zog and Jonas in the team without Geremi being there aswell, imo. Jonas has the engine to suggest that he'd be more than suited to 4-3-3 as he can and does track back. Its the other two I can't make my mind up about. Geremi's got no legs so he'd be stuck in the centre, decent delivery, but immoblile and the Zog only goes one way. It may seem odd but perhaps having Duff instead of the Zog would make it work better, and i'd have Guthrie (or Butt) in the centre. But i'll have probably changed my mind about it again tomorrow night (again).
ShearMagic
They're pretty bad. It's not beyond the realm of possibility for us to win. We're worse. The better team doesn't always win. What is this, nursery school? Well you said it's not beyond the realm of possibility for us to win. It is, because we couldn't even beat Stoke at home. I can't see us winning any time soon. Howay man, its not that bad - just seems like it after that 2nd half!! If we're that bad we wouldn't have taken a two goal lead in the first place, or even drew away at Chelsea or beat Villa. We had a run of 13 league games last season without winning, so its a bit early to right us off yet. This is one of the most even leagues for years, everyone is capable of getting something from everyone (top 4 or so excepted)

It's not because we drew at Chelsea We didn't win though did we? And how we drew that is beyond me, if Chelsea could finish we would've got our usual humping. TRon
The problem now is that we are needing away wins because we are dropping points at home, and I don't think we have the confidence to close out a win in a game like this. We might get another draw.
gray
If we were ever going to go 4-3-3 it would have been at home to stoke. JFK is too predictable now. GIVEN BEYE COLO BASS ENRIQUE JONAS (GEREMI 70) BUTT GUTHRIE NZOG OWEN MARTINS (VIDUKA 60) 2-1 Them. Crouch, Defoe. Owen.
ToonMonty
Any news about Butt and / or Guthrie being fit? Neither of them are listed as injured on the phsio room site.

Guest neesy111
leading 1-0 to the final minutes, then due us retreating we get a draw when we deserved all three sound familiar?
toptoon
GIVEN BEYE TAYLOR BASS ENRIQUE JONAS COLO GUTHRIE NZOG OWEN MARTINS I know some will disagree with Taylor coming in. Its a gamble i'd take. This has the right mixture of grit, skill, workrate, passing ability and pace imo. 1-2 Martins and Owen for us.

Skirge
I think Pompey are there for the taking, I can see Adams being the next manager to go. We cannot afford to sit back like we did at Chelski and Boro, we should go there wamtimg a win.. Any news on Butt or Guthrie? -------------Given Beye----Colo------Bass------Jose Jonas----But-------Guth-----Zoggy ----------owen------Oba OR --------------Given Beye----Tayl------Bass------Jose Jonas----Colo-----Gere-----Zoggy ----------Owen-----Oba

Mowen
Many people going to this? My first ever trip to Fratton park, going with a mate who's from Pompey as well, so should get an 'interesting' city tour.

I'm going, first trip to fratton park too but I've been to Portsmouth before and it's a shitheap.
ShearMagic
Would people be happy with a point from this game? Had we have beaten Stoke I definitely would have been, but we're going to draw our way to relegation if we keep getting points. I suppose a lot depends on the performance though. Syrette
Would people be happy with a point from this game? Away from home, I guess so. We could really do with all three obviously, but given our poor away form this season I'll take anything we can get, especially against a decent side like Portsmouth.
