might be a cheap shot, but I hope Carroll gets seriously injured asap.

I don't. I hope he's fit and healthy and doesn't score a single goal.

Which may happen, after all the holy trinity of           Carroll

Nolan          Barton                      is what made Carroll what he is, without them I know he'll be shit.

The week after the deal I was listening to the Guardian podcast and they were going back and forth about how Carroll would fare at Liverpool. One of them was claiming that you really didn't need anyone who could cross the ball with Carroll-- he made the crosses look good.  And I was thinking why Carroll never seemed to do anything for Jonas or Routledge...

;D

And of course now that Carroll is gone Jonas is getting his crosses into Best.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has played down reports that striker Andy Carroll will be fit to make his debut in Sunday's game against West Ham.

Carroll, who joined Liverpool from Newcastle in January for a club record fee of £35m, has not featured for his new club because of a thigh problem.

Dalglish said: "He is close to full training. I don't think he's quite ready for a game yet."Andy's progress has been exactly what we'd anticipated."

Carroll, 22, has not played since Newcastle's 2-0 defeat by Tottenham on 28 December.

And Dalglish told the Liverpool's official website that "he's still got a bit to go before he'll be considered for a match".

Newcastle had sent Carroll to Dubai in the hope of accelerating his recovery with a warm-weather break and the forward had been due to visit a tendon repair specialist in Sweden before he moved to Liverpool on the final day of the January transfer window.

Dalglish, whose side face Sparta Prague in the second leg of their round of 32 Europa League tie at Anfield on Thursday, insisted he is being patient with his new signing.

"Andy has been involved with the lads for parts of the training but there's no need to get carried away, there's not going to be a surprise announcement that he's playing tomorrow night," added Dalglish.

"He has done very well. The first day he signed we said we would be patient with him and we will continue to do that. For us, he has done everything that has been asked of him."

Liverpool drew 0-0 in the first leg against Sparta Prague and Dalglish said he "might have a decision to make" regarding whether to play skipper Steven Gerrard, who has been struggling with a groin problem.

"He is that close that we might have a decision to make, whether we take a chance or leave him," revealed Dalglish. "We've not to come to that stage yet, but that could be what we're faced with tomorrow."

-----------

By the time he gets fit then match fit its going to be well into March which will be 3/4 months since his last competitive game, im satisfied with the £35m

Dalglish's comments don't sound very convincing.

"He is close to full training" doesn't seem to sit very well with "he's still got a bit to go before he'll be considered for a match".

In other words, he's fine as long now, but he hasn't kicked  ball yet. If his return is delayed, then we all know what happened. And he will KO for the rest of the season.

Aye he was there, its in the Liverpool Echo over here. My tutor at Uni saw him near where he lives in Allerton a few hours after tucking into a Domino's. Really random that, not typically where any of the Liverpool or Everton players live.

Nolan's from around there and it's not too far from Woolton where quite a few players live.

Aye I've since been corrected on this. Thought most of them lived on the Wirral but apparently a few of them live in that area.

He was attacked by the Driscoll brothers. They never touch the face but knock hell out of the body.

 Nice Only Fools reference.

Dalglish looks like a fuckin garden gnome next to ******* in that shot.

It would be f***ing EPIC if we qualified for Europe over them.  I'm pretty sure he would feel about 2 inches tall as the Geordie crowd let him know what they thought of him by waving passports etc at him!

Please, please, please, PLEASE happen!  :D

That could happen. If you disregard Chelsea, Liverpool has met only weak opponents, which may explain their resurrection. They got a really tough finish to the season.

Not much chance of that guys, as you can see most of the scousers are confident of attaining 4th place.

Most?  If given the choice they would rather take 4th over a Europa league trophy ..... it's totally misleading to say they are 'confident' of achieving that man.  They are simply stating what they prefer.
