They have an easier run in than us, imo, but they always struggle against the lesser teams and there is a distinct lack of team harmony in the dressing room. The only way I can see them really standing a chance of going down is if they get a load of injuries (like us) and their remaining players get burnout. Remember the old cliche? Lots of players injured, in particular our better ones. We must have had 6 to 12 players out all season. We have shit manager on top of this. Yet we are ABOVE Spurs. Spurs have had Ledley King plus a couple others out at most. They have had most of their first team available all season. They have also had two good managers, Ramos and Redknapp, yet they are still playing shit and losing. Just goes to show how shit they have been doing! if they had 6 to 12 players out, including their best ones and had the off field problems like we have had, plus Kinnear at the helm, and selling to make profit instead of spending millions, they'd be fucking bottom. I think they will stay up as West Brom and Boro look certain to go down, and I fear Pompey or Stoke may get the next place. We may get dragged down there, but my belief in us staying up has gone up since seeing R.Taylor, Nolan and Lovenkrands come in and doing ok. They were in a bad shape a few months back and that did make the back pages, and they're slowly and inconsistently climbing ouf of that. You probably won't find someone who dislikes Spurs more than me outside of Arsenal supporters but we've been and are still in a far worse situation than they have been. However that's with many different managers - each individual manager would wish to pursue their own targets. I'm sure Levy didnt really want to go for Keane with the grief the guy put him through in the summer. Also on Downing, I think i remember Southgate even put a price on his head of 15million pounds on one post match interview. So he was available, the point I was making is when Harry speaks about a player they have put a bid in or they are working on something. No manager from my recollection has issued them a 'put up or shut up' message.
