Who's this little blond guy playing in the middle for us? he was all over the place, worked his socks off he did.

Ban Sayer, he had a really good game but they all did.  We were by far the better team of the two and we should have had a few goals.

Absolutely, deserved to have won that game. We did.

Two late goals gave Newcastle United's under-15s the best possible start on the first day of the Nike Premier Cup at Warwick University.

The Magpies - who won the competition two years ago - were drawn in the same group as Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Everton and Reading and played their opening two games on Monday.

And they won both matches with last-minute strikes as they bid to qualify for the World Finals of the annual competition.

:)

Fucking hell..not a bad side that.

Indeed, I fear we could be on the recieving end of another one-sided scoreline. Good experience for the younger players though who are going to be playing against some players who are basically first-teamers.

I reckon that Briggs could turn out to be a decent LB, strong and quick, just needs to learn to read the game a little better.

United's U15s bowed out at the Quarter Final stage of the 20 team Nike Premier Cup on Wednesday morning, as they lost 0-1 to Celtic.

The Hoops went on to beat Liverpool to stake a place in Thursday's final against Chelsea, who overcame West Bromwich Albion. The event - which Newcastle won back in 2010 - is staged at the University of Warwick.

NUFC results/scorers:

Monday:

Everton won 2-1 (Jack Elliott, Callum Robinson)

Crystal Palace won 2-1 (Adam Armstrong 2)

Tuesday:

Arsenal drew 1-1 (Louis Johnson)

Reading won 1-0 (Jamie Holmes)

Wednesday:

Celtic lost 0-1

Our U18s are top of the league however and continue to do well.

The U18's should win the league.  Think they will pretty much sew up the title if they avoid defeat at the weekend.
