BeloEmre
69mins - NEWCASTLE GOAL (3-2): Ryan Donaldson, who was on the bench at Villa Park on Sunday, has his second reserve goal in three games since returning from his loan at Hartlepool. He picks the ball up down the left some 50 yards from goal and suddenly accelerates, virtually unchallenged, towards the edge of the box before placing a pinpoint shot into the bottom corner. BeloEmre
77mins - NEWCASTLE GOAL (3-3): It's now an amazing 11 goals in 13 starts this season for Phil Airey, who has scored a tremendous strikers' goal to draw United level. Tavernier's low cross from the right was dangerous but it was Airey's first-touch which created the chance, giving him room to shoot on the turn, and although his strike was not the cleanest of his young career, it was right in the corner and trickled past Kean. This second half has now come to life in the same way as the first-half.

BeloEmre
89mins - BLACKBURN GOAL (4-4): This game continues to amaze and now Rovers are level. Michael Potts has too much room to run into and he lets fly from 20 yards with a fine curling effort which beats Krul all ends up and was bound for the net from the moment it left his boot. 87mins - NEWCASTLE GOAL (3-4): But now Newcastle have a fourth, and surely that will be the decisive goal! From the corner following Kean's fine save, Inman swings it in and James Perch meets it with a powerful header which squirms past a man on the line. Thespence
Donaldson seems to have improved since his loan spell. It can't be goalscoring as he never scored any while down there.

oldtype
Phil Airey deserves a shot with the first team. Would give Ranger a nice kick up the ass to have another youth team striker play first team football ahead of him.

Would give Ranger a nice kick up the ass to have another youth team striker play first team football ahead of him. I know he's not ready, but neither is Ranger - and at least the Goal Fairy just might be a first team footballer, one day...

Guest Wearside
It was a decent game, very evenly matched until half time with not a great deal of chances but second half we outclassed Newcastle and we should have won by more really. Our centre half Louis Laing(from Newcastle I think) was superb and he will be a top defender IMO,Newcastle brought a little ginger haired kid on in the second half and he looked very lively and looked very decent and his pace caused a few problems. There was a decent crowd with it being school holidays and Pardew and Nolan were in attendance aswell, the bairn got Kevin Ball's autograph aswell. Frustrating to say the least. Are they still at the age where by they can move freely from clubs? I'd be looking to nab him. :colo:
Guest Wearside
We have quite a few lads from Newcastle in our youth team, not sure about the rules for signing them but fairly sure they will be under some sort of contract.Colback who is in our first team is also a big Newcastle fan,not sure how they have slipped through your net, maybe Newcastle haven't payed as much attention to the academy as we have. I was talking to a Arsenal scout at a academy match about 2 month ago and apparently Billy Knott who is now on the fringes of our first team had a trial at Newcastle but you wouldn't pay Chelsea a nominal fee for him and so he signed for us and the scout couldn't believe you had let him slip by.
