ChrisMcQuillan
Academy beat Mexican side Pachuca's youth 6-0 today in the Milk Cup. Adam Campbell, Macauley Booth, Rolando Aarons and Alex Gilliead all played excellently, and Lubomir Satka was a beast at the back.

ChrisMcQuillan
http://nimilkcup.org/cache/images/stories/632-amondayprem.gif A win tomorrow against CSKA (and from watching the team today, they play great football - they should be capable) should see Newcastle go straight into competition's semi-finals. binnsy
normally there's highlights on the red button on bbc of this tournament, has in years gone by, having the olympics on though in the next few days will probably mean its not shown this year. There's coverage, but it seems very limited this year, unless I've missed something. You're probably right that it's for budget reasons, sadly. We really did play great football today though. Real confidence. Campbell plays like Rooney, and likes to sit deep and create attacks for himself by playing the ball out. We've got some great passers as well, I can only recall one stray attempt. Macauley Booth has some real swagger and strength about him too, left the right back for dead a few times with a simple drop of the shoulder.

ponsaelius
Interesting that we're likely to face Desportivo Brasil. They're solely a youth club set up by a company, with the aim of producing players then making money out of it.

afar
Just how close is Campbell to a senior side club up. Seems to be banging them in 5 this tourney already, everytime I read about the kids his name is always prominent. With the lack of strikers at the club now, he might be closer to a call up than we think.
ChrisMcQuillan
Having watched him for two full matches now (tonight and last night), I'd say he really has something. He's like Owen in his prime. Lightning fast, drifts between defenders, and always seems to pop up in the right places. He's got a real predatory instinct that you don't often see at this level. That said, he is VERY small. Tiny. He's stronger than he looks, though. I'd say he could have enough about him to compensate for his height, but it'll take another year or so. Would back him to play in the League Cup against some weak sides, but I think he needs another year or two to develop at his own pace, physically more than anything else. I'm trying to organise an interview with him, so I'll ask him what his aims are if I can get it.
Tooj
What's he like technique wise? As loads of people have mentioned his pace but not that much about his technique.
johnnypd
he's looked a bit out of his depth when i've seem him at reserve level - looks very quick, intelligent, marvellous touch - but players just a year or two older destroy him.
ChrisMcQuillan
What's he like technique wise? As loads of people have mentioned his pace but not that much about his technique. Pretty tidy as far as I can see. Controls the ball well, has good vision, and can dink in and out of players. he's looked a bit out of his depth when i've seem him at reserve level - looks very quick, intelligent, marvellous touch - but players just a year or two older destroy him. That's my concern about him stepping up. I've not seen him at reserve level, although he's tearing up his current level. I think he needs time to develop, like I said. Maybe let him toughen up a bit as he grows, he's still what, 16? As FM says, a "hot prospect", but expecting him to jump into the first team now and bag 5-10 goals a season is just not going to happen yet.
gbandit
Think he's 17 and a half now. Born on 1st Jan 1995. I've not seen him at all but followed a lot of stuff on him, will hopefully catch him in a reserve game this season
