Ronaldo
Wasn't it Shola who lost his man, not Harper or Coloccini's fault really
madras
I wasn't scapegoating him! I've said in the match thread it was 100% Harper's fault, which it was. Just the fact he was stood a good two or three yards away, just watching and doing nowt, riled me up a bit. Largely because it's not the first time it's happened, as i mentioned above. just watched it again and if you want to have a go at someone try andy carroll who was closer. to be honest the balldrops to a forward and when it's blasted back in everyone(defenders and attackers) wait to see where it goes. Yorkie
I'll hold my hands up if it wasn't Colo's man... i'll have to watch it again. I remember the commentator saying so though - so being a bit daft i took that as gospel. Probably not the most reliable source to go on due to (as people have said) the media's agendas re: foreign defenders. All i'm saying is what annoyed me was that he stood there and ball-watched. I realise that if he'd jumped in it mighn't have made a difference, such was the giant hash of it that Harper made and the ball was teetering over the goal-line anyway... but just to do nothing peed me off a bit. All the other players reacted to the ensuing chaos in one way or another. Dunno how you can say the goal was anyone other than Harper's fault though, Ronaldo. It was an average ball in and should have been easy pickings if he hadn't flapped at it so badly.

Guest Geordiekev
he was awful on saturday,m improved second half, but is just so indecisive its unreal. He only improved when ridiculed by their player...
Yorkie
I'll believe you. I don't wanna go on about this so i'll leave it here. Basically, i don't think the goal was his fault, though his total inactivity riled me up a bit - largely cos it's something i've seen before. There... that's simply my thoughts on it. On top of which i think he's pretty pap in general and i hope we ship him out before the transfer window finishes.

Ronaldo
Lee Dixon and Lawrenson laid into Coloccini. He's an easy target and they are a couple of pathetic, spineless cunts. What pissed me off is that Shearer didn't even bother to defend Enrique (or Colo) when they were both unfairly criticised in the studio.

Dave
Why should he defend players he doesn't rate, or thought made mistakes? He's a pundit, nothing more.

If he's nothing more than a pundit then why are we discussing him as a potential manager? I meant right now, I wasn't discussing his abilities. He's got absolutely no connection to the club and certainly won't have until Ashley fucks off, which is looking increasingly unlikely. Therefore he might as well speak his mind - that's what he's being paid for.

Ronaldo
He was completely mute when Enrique recieved his typical 'unsuited spaniard' criticism. Nowt to do with reading his mind

Ronaldo
There are a minority of players in our squad that get unfairly targeted by the media, they could do with someone who knows better sticking up for them. Shearer was in a perfect position to do that on saturday, but didn't.
Dave
Unfairly in your opinion.
Ronaldo
Shearer lauded Enrique with praise at the end of last season, even said he was one of the few players 'we can't afford to lose' iirc. The bottom line speaks loudest, Shearer isn't our manager, fair enough. But there's a good chance he'll be our manager in the near future and Enrique surely would have been looking for Shearer to jump to his defence. Dave
I doubt he'll be all that bothered tbh. Not if he's off, anyway.
Wullie
He was completely mute when Enrique recieved his typical 'unsuited spaniard' criticism. Wullie
Wasn't quite the only mention tbh. But where did I imply otherwise? It was, I've just watched it again. You said he'd received his usual "unsuited Spaniard" criticism, he didn't. Lee Dixon's entitled to his opinion and Shearer wasn't asked for his. I don't think Shearer should be immediately leaping to his defence after a comment like that.
macca888
I am probably going to get absolutely slated for this bit I actually think Colo could end up being a really quality defender for us in the future if the following happens: 1. He accepts he is remaining at NUFC for the foreseeable future when the transfer window closes. 2. Realises that only quality performances, even in the CCC, will get him his place back in the Argentina WC squad. 3. Hughton and Calderwood arrange regular training sessions around him and Taylor defending in the CC environment. 4. Understand the time to play and a time to hoof. If we can achieve this level of organiosation in the bloke and get off his back, then he will prove to be an asset, that is, if he stays.
