Just bumped into someone else who claims to be ITK and reckons the club's been sold to a HK consortium. f*** knows if it's true but he was adamant it wasn't just a rumour. Personally I think it's bollocks but we'll see.

Someone told me the same thing - sold to a "Kuala Lumpur" man, Ched Evans at the club now and Michael Johnson coming on loan. All in a days takeover

i bumped into someone who said that if i didnt stop texting him bollox rumours he would end my life force !!

If Vialli is actually set to be involved with your club, I'd start digging if I were you....

Why? Because of one poor stint at Watford? He won a good haul with Chelsea.

ONE POOR STINT? You can fuck off with that. POOR STINT? More like nearly fucking killing the club, the fucking leeching twat. He almost single-handedly led to our near administration, due to buying shit players on huge wages, playing sideways football, then sueing the fucking club. The bald-headed horn-cladden twat.

Hmmm...this story sounds familiar somehow.

my mate is fairly close with the Shepherds. he said we were sold this evening to an Asian consortium but led by a local multi-millionnaire (not Freddy). No word on the price yet, but Shearer should be in by Saturday and he's begun negotiations to bring in Beckford, Evans and Matt Mills. Still too late to convince Bassong to stay though  Freddy's not best pleased but Ashley made it clear he'd prefer not to do business with him. personal grudges shouldnt be getting in the way, but this is MA we're talking about.....somebody not known for his common sense, logic and decency.

I'm beyond impatient, i've resigned myself to not caring when we get took over as long as it is before the start of the season.

I'm already thinking about how important the january transfer window could be for us. For the record i genuinely don't think a takeover is far away.

Sounds true enough. I'm going to send it to a few mates.

anyone think theres any truth in the bwin bid ?

Sounds like 2+2=5 to me. There was talk of a European bid, we've spoke to them before about sponsorship, Llambias knows about gambling. Therefore Bwin fits in.

Ryder probably Googled it tbh. As 'true' as anything else though I guess.

anyone think theres any truth in the bwin bid ?

Who are bwin?

austrian based online gambling company who sponsor real madrid.

http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/sundaysun//tm_headline=austrian-firm-bwin-makes-toon-takeover-enquiry%26method=full%26objectid=24113310%26siteid=72703-name_page.html

AUSTRIAN-based online gaming company Bwin are understood to have made enquiries about the purchase of Newcastle United.

The public limited company, who are also major sponsors of La Liga giants Real Madrid, are spearheaded by gaming tycoons Manfred Bodner and Norbert Teufelberger.

Bwin also have links globally throughout the world of sport, with Serie A side AC Milan also in their stable.

The company, who were formed in 1999, are believed to be putting together a package to meet Newcastle owner Mike Ashley’s £100m asking price.

The Chronicle understands that Bwin were at one stage earmarked by the current regime as sponsors of the Magpies next season when their deal with Northern Rock runs out.

Story continues Continue story

Managing director Derek Llambias has solid links within the gaming industry due to his involvement with swanky London casino 50 St James in the capital and is understood to have been in contact with Bwin.

However, it is no surprise to see Bwin linked with a bid to the purchase of United, with their brand making huge strides in recent years.

Not only have they secured major sponsorship deals with Real and Milan, but they also sponsor the Portuguese League.

One of the bi-products of Bwin, PokerRoom.tv is advertised on US TV networks including ABC.

A Bwin official told the Chronicle: "As a rule we do not comment on rumour or speculation."

However, a source close to the company said: "It’s no surprise that Manfred or Norbert have been linked with this.

"If they were spotted in Newcastle it’s not a big deal, because they could be there one day and on the other side of the world the next.

"Their links to global sport are there for all to see."

Llambias is expected to steer clear of the Magpies’ first friendly of the summer on Saturday as he focuses on the sale of the club.

Toon tycoon Mike Ashley is also not expected to be present in Dublin, where the black-and- whites will be represented at boardroom level by football secretary Lee Charnley.

As well as interest from Bwin, United are understood to be working with the Malaysian consortium who visited Tyneside for a second time this week.

Ashley’s PR man told the Chronicle today: "It has been well documented that bids of £100m have gone in and that we are still in the hands of lawyers.

"There continues to be interest in the sale of the club.

"And Keith Harris at Seymour Pierce is working very hard to go through the process of selling the club."

Fans cruelly had their hopes raised in the last 24 hours after an internet hoax got out of control last night. It was claimed that Hong Kong-based investors were ready to bring in Gianluca Vialli as director of football and Alan Shearer as boss, along with a string of other exciting incentives.

However, this has turned out to be a complete wind- up which was first generated in cyberspace on Saturday night.

That did not stop some national newspapers falling for the trick although club sources confirmed today that there is no truth in the claims whatsoever.

I thought they were random Malaysians sent by Ashley to bump up the price in points 4 & 5.
