They have been the best performing English strikers this season and also play together at club level. Since Rooney is a fucking idiot and will miss the first two matches, I'm not sure. Carroll will probably end up going but it's very easy to forget just how awful he has been for most of the season. The options are very limited. Welbeck may come into his own at the Euros, but at the moment I cannot see him been anything more than an average international striker at the tournament, despite his relatively poor form recently even Sturridge would give me more hope, for his potential unpredictability if anything else. Tiresias Posted May 10, 2012 Share Posted May 10, 2012 I think the team should be picked with a view that it'll have some stability over the next few tournaments rather than trying to drag one more performance out of a team that never really did in the first place... Carrick is a metronomic passer yeah but there's a vast abscence of creativity there. I'd prefer solid back line with holdign midfielders and fast attacking players to hit on counter, rather than some hap-hazard midfield that tries to hold onto the ball further up the pitch.
