Interesting how the blueprint of "young promising English player" seems to be pacey, with quick feet and a preference for avoiding the central part of the pitch: Bernard, Chamberlain, Young, Wellbeck, Sterling, Lallana, Walcott, Sturridge... I'll even add Moses to the mix, just to name a few.

I think it's because we focus so much on physical attributes like pace and power, that the things like technique and guile, (required for the middle of the pitch) get pushed aside somewhat.
