Should be looking for £3m minimum for Nolan, £35m for the lot and I'd be very happy to see them all gone appart from Enrique.  Hopefully they'll add Smith and Duff to that list, I assume they aren't on it due to them wanting to stay, fuck that sell them anyway IMO.

Daily Mail has Blackburn going after

Butt

Nolan

Smith

Good news at last, even if it is the Daily Mail.

Imagine if we could get £5m for that shite, would be a great start.

s*** source but:

http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/21446/Nolan_desperate_to_get_out_of_Toon.aspx

HULL are ready to step up their pursuit of Newcastle's Kevin Nolan by offering £2.5million for the midfielder. The 29-year-old is desperate to quit St James' Park after suffering relegation with the Toon.Nolan joined Newcastle from Bolton for £4million last January but has endured a disappointing time on Tyneside. Tigers boss Phil Brown is a huge admirer of Nolan having worked with the player during their time together at Bolton.

And Nolan is expected to jump at the chance of a move back to the Premier League with Hull ready to offer the player a three-year deal.

Perhaps if him and the rest of the team didn't play such shite football they wouldn't be suffering.  Of course the poor players do have their fat pay packets to ease that suffering a little.

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburnrovers/4434796.Blackburn_Rovers_will_not_move_for_Newcastle_stars/?ref=rss

SAM Allardyce will not be taking advantage of Newcastle United’s summer sale as the Blackburn Rovers boss focuses his own transfer search elsewhere.

A number of his former club’s stars have been linked with a move to Rovers in recent weeks, after Newcastle’s relegation has left them desperate to reduce a crippling wage bill - but Allardyce is not interested in taking from the Toon.

Michael Owen, Joey Barton, Kevin Nolan, Alan Smith and Ryan Taylor have all been linked with an Ewood Park switch in recent weeks but the Lancashire Telegraph understood none are on Allardyce’s radar this summer.

A move for midfield bad-boy Barton was ruled out by Allardyce soon after the season end, due to his well publicised off-field problems, and it is now understood interest in any of his team mates is highly unlikely.

Allardyce had been expected to set up a reunion with energetic midfielder Nolan, after their spell together at Bolton, but the Rovers boss believes he can get better value for money elsewhere.

He is continuing to track Amiens midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, dubbed the next Patrick Vieira, while other midfielders are also on his wanted list as he continues his bid for a box-to-box player.

The versatile Ryan Taylor was on Allardyce’s wish-list last January but now, with the player seemingly available again, Rovers believe they have already filled that void with the addition of El-Hadji Diouf.

Michael Owen would probably fit the bill at Ewood Park, with Roque Santa Cruz and Matt Derbyshire destined for summer exits, but huge wage demands would leave any Rovers interest pointless.

The search for a Santa Cruz replacement is continuing, although any advanced talks remain on hold until their Paraguayan talisman’s future is sorted out - leaving Matt Derbyshire also playing a waiting game as clubs clamour for his signature.

Reports of a £2.5million move for Alan Smith continue to surface as well but sources from both Newcastle and Blackburn indicated Rovers have shown absolutely no interest in the former England man.

The fat bastard made all his transfer mistakes here, he's not about to do it again unfortunately.

Interesting, cheers. I hope they stick to this so the new lot (Shearer) can decide how to mould the squad.

The best thing about that article is that it contains no direct quotes. I'm hanging on to that in the hope that Fat Sam comes in with a bid to 'rescue' Alan Smith.

Since Fat Sam based a lot of his decisions on Opta performance stats it would suggest that since he kept picking Smith even when there were other options available purely because Smith's Opta stats were good.  If that was the case then I could see him wanting him again, based on his flawed Opta methodology.

burnley in for duff? ^ from the chronicle website.

i'd be surprised if he went there, being an ex-blackburn player.

Shite source but has quotes:

http://www.eleven-a-side.com/acrossthewater/news.asp?n=36568

Reports linking Damien Duff with Barclays Premier League newcomers Burnley are nothing more than “a wind-up”, according to the player’s chief adviser.

Duff looks set to leave Newcastle United this summer, with Wolves manager Mick McCarthy and Burnley’s Owen Coyle reported to be interested.

But long-time adviser Pat Devlin insists that the winger’s links with Blackburn Rovers, where he rose to prominence in a seven-year spell before leaving for Chelsea in 2003, mean talk of a move to their Lancashire rivals is probably tongue-in-cheek.

He said: “He’s still under contract at Newcastle and that would be his first port of call.

“I think someone’s winding up the Burnley fans because Damien’s a Blackburn fella.”
