How can we buy him as that story indicates? Given that he has played for Watford & Pompey this season...... :idiot2:

That would suggest the story is rubbish but he would be a decent loan til the summer if we could get him

according to wiki he hasnt played this season for pompey (which begs the question of why they paid 3m for him)

Spurs would want £10m for him at least I reckon.

more probably levy is very tight when it comes to player out fees

Levy is also very focused on removing anyone on high wages from the wage bill if they're not seen as first team anymore.  Even if he has to sell for less then they're worth.  If Keane isn't a first team regular by the end of the season and a bidding war doesn't break out they'll be prepared to let him go on the cheap IMO.

Chris Hughton is preparing a £750,000 bid for Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Beevers.

Preparing it, as in counting the pounds before he posts them down to Sheffield?

Meanwhile, Hughton revealed that he hopes to make progress in the transfer market this week and hinted that Marlon Harewood could be his new number one striker target.

“Marlon was one that we were always considering. He got better over the period of time he was here,” he said.

“Of course we will be making decisions because we have to.”

I hope that's as a loan and not to buy at the previously quoted £1.5m!

I can't see us buying any one but if we do it will probably be on the last day of the transfer window. Because of the 'Emergency loans' rule I'd be surprised if we even bother to have any loans we are planing on doing done by the end of the transfer window.

That being said, it has been a pretty quiet transfer window for most clubs so far hasn't it? A lot of media speculation but very little actual business.

for me after yesterdays game;

-Sign up a right back. Wouldnt mind Simpson on loan till end of season, should get better if we are to stay up if we get promoted.

-Right Winger/Right Midfielder. Need one to keep the width and help our right back more. Loads of time yesterday Simpson where outnumbered. Also we are quite onesided.

-Striker. I won't mind Carroll / Løvenkrands. But it was pretty clear yesterday that Shola is usually piss poor, and we probably should find one more. Seems Shola only get goals when alone on top with Nolan behind him? Absolute shit yesterday anyway.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that we played the best team in the league yesterday, of course some players were going to get showed up. The current batch of players we have are good enough to get us promoted. We can spend in the summer when the money comes in.

WBA aren't the best team in the league they got their arses handed to them on a plate by Forest last week. Other than that i agree with your post, it's pointless wasting money on players if they aren't the ones we want. A couple of loan signings will do, hopefully that will see us through to promotion.
