Hleb should never have left Arsenal, he was onto a good thing there. Arsenal found the perfect replacement in Arshavin.

 

If Hleb thought twice about coming here in the summer, I'd be surprised. Never mind the kind of money we'd have to pay him to bring him in on loan or the money we'd have to pay Barca for his services full-time... Would be the perfect player to have on the right wing with Jonas on the left, no doubt we'd see better performances from Jonas.

I assume he'll want European football again, but he'll be crazy if he expects a CL side to go for him, he's not having the greatest season at Stuttgart. I reckon a return to English football would be best for him to revive his career (funny that he still played in around 50% of the games of a treble-winning side last season).

 

Wages admittedly would be crippling for your current situation. I don't know if Stuttgart is paying 100% though (wouldn't surprise me if they weren't).

Just checked, we have Hleb on €3m a year net, and our valuation of him is €10m. We almost *never* manage to sell our rejects for less than a few copper, mind. Gudjohnsen went for 0+€2m addons this season.

I loved him when he was at Arsenal. Superb dribbler, excellent technique, intelligent and creative passer of the ball. He fitted Arsenal down to an absolute tee. Don't see how people could say he wasn't good enough for Arsenal when he was a regular in their side when they got to their only ever Champions League final.

 

Okay phyically he wasn't great and he seems to have an aversion to shooting but he's a certainly not a bad player ffs.

Talented player don't get me wrong. However, in every 90 mins of football he played, he was effective for maybe 10mins overall.

To be honest I'd agree with the points you make there. He's definitely better 'in the hole' as to on out wide, natural wingplay is just not his game at all.

 

Like you say, he'd almost definitely be wasted playing in our team. At Arsenal he was surrounded by players that made use of his positive attributes, and likewise made up for his failings.

 

My opinions may be bias because I've been a fan of him since his time in Germany, but as far as technique and natural talent goes he's on another planet to anything we have at the moment.

I don't think i've ever disliked watching a player of his type - zippy/energetic/fast - so much as i did with Hleb. Lift your fucking head up. This was just for Arsenal btw, not a clue how he's done since.

 

That's from a neutral football fan point of view, incidentally. I'd of course have him here in a heartbeat.

Hleb is a really good player. End product isn't the best (needs coaching to shoot more often in particular) but everything else is spot on.

 

He was actually just hitting his best form when he left Arsenal & fucked his career up, he sould have known he wouldn't play every week at Barca.

 

I'd love to see him at Everton. Him with Arteta, Pienaar & Fellaini would just be sex.
