Well f***. 14.99 a month was a bit excessive, enough for me to cancel it for the summer. I'll be jobless next season, in the middle of Chicago,  that extra five is going to be painful to shell out. I won't even use those features.

They still have a yearly plan: $159.99 for the year - average of a little over $13 per month.  It is going up to $169.99 in August, though, so act quickly. That's the way I've done it and it makes sense since you'll likely be using it every month anyway.

Also, several people have said they'll be enhancing the site with new features, iPad functionality, etc.  Apparently they're taking it a bit more seriously and the quality should improve.  I hope so.

Hmmm, I already pay for Fox Soccer+, get FSC free with my FIOS package... is there really that much benefit to getting the foxsoccer.tv s*** too?

It's great to be able to watch every match in a weekend, I was able to watch every Newcastle game because of it. The service is frustrating though, video can be sloppy and even unwatchable, but I still paid for it since I couldn't get that offer anywhere else. I don't really care about the new upgrades, PIP and live match stats will be nice, but I don't have an iPad or anything like that. The day they make a 360/PS3 app will be great. I know I'll buy it again next season since I probably won't have FSC, which even if you have, it's definitely still worth it.

Hmm, well I'm not sure. Half of the games were on FSC or FS+ anyway, and the remaining ones could be found... elsewhere... and if the quality isn't all that good, I'm not sure it has any benefits over the... other... onlne coverage.

Just to be clear on this - the picture quality is HD. I plug my laptop into an HD tv and full screen it's clear. It's miles better than most illegal streams. I actually got to the point last year where I hoped our games weren't on FSC because I don't get FSC in HD thanks to Comcast.

Their problems lie in the format they stream in, which has a tendency to rewind so to speak if it runs into an error, as opposed to ESPN3 which essentially ignores errors and would prefer you to miss 10-15 seconds and keep you live (this is rare for them anyway). They also got overloaded at certain times so hopefully they have added to/improved the servers.

"Zamalek duo Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido’ and Mahmoud Abdel-Razek ‘Shikabala’ have been sentenced in absentia to one month in prison for assaulting three students."

Seems that Shikabala, whom we've been linked to a while ago,  was the agressor as well.

Any of you older guys in here remember Preben Arentoft?

In 1969, Arentoft moved to England to play for Newcastle United. He played for Newcastle until 1971, earning the nickname Benny. He made a total of 63 appearances for the club, scoring 3 goals. He helped Newcastle win the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1969, scoring in the second leg of the final. He is also remembered for having to play in goal during a 5-1 win over Manchester United in 1970, coming on for an injured Willie McFaul.

Arsenal Shocked By New Transfer Request

After hearing that a host of his Arsenal players want to leave the club, Arsene Wenger has received yet another blow after the club’s Emirate stadium handed in a written transfer request.

The amazing 60,000 seater Emirates stadium has come out publicly today claiming that a ground of such beauty and magnitude should house a team capable of winning Major trophies.

Speaking from it’s Villa in Spain the stadium said “It is not good enough, I put on a show every week but get nothing in return, my trophy cabinet is bare.”

“Fair enough I won the best pitch award in 2009 but I didn’t see anyone putting on an open top bus parade for that!”

The Emirates, who married Valencia’s impressive Mestella stadium in a Church ceremony back in 2006, made headline news earlier this year when it was caught having an affair with Brentford’s Griffin Park.

The news of the transfer request will be a massive shock to the Gunners, who will be painfully aware that Tottenham could pounce after their failure to get the Olympic stadium.

The Emirates may be reluctant to cross the North London divide but Arsenal chiefs will know that there won’t be a shortage of clubs interested in the ground.

How The Emirates May Look In Tottenham White

Club manager Arsene Wenger pleaded for patience:

“After everything we have been through together it would break my heart to think of losing it to another team.”

“If we don’t win anything next season it can go with my blessing.”

Manchester United, famous for having a large London fan base would be the Emirates first choice however it would be difficult to see how they could break the emotional bond with Old Trafford.

Manchester City have also expressed an interest but only so that no-one else can have it. The rumours have been fuelled by news that City plan to house all of their unwanted players in the stadium and use it as a helicopter landing pad for when the Sheiks visit London.
