Listening to Baddiel and Skinner's podcasts from the last World cup, wish they would do some podcasts throughout the upcoming season, like the Ramble.

Haha I just started doing the same yesterday, they're smashing ('I always imagine coming up against Peter Crouch at a corner would be like someone throwing a bicycle at you'). I think they did some for the 2006 WC as well I'm going to try and track down.

Skinner's twice weekly non-football podcasts are well worth a listen if anyone's a fan and doesn't already btw.

Skinner has just said that line in the episode i'm listening to.

Only reason I searched for them was cos Baddiel tweeted that they'd won an award for them.

Fifa could allow matches at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to be played over three 30-minute periods if temperatures in the stadiums became dangerously high for the players.

Michael Beavon, a director of Arup Associates who helped to develop the zero-carbon solar technology that will cool the 12 stadiums, told delegates at the Qatar Infrastructure Conference in London that the air-cooling would maintain a comfortable temperature of around 24 degrees Celsius in the stadiums.

"There is a moderate risk of heat injury to the players between 24C-29C but if you go above that you have high and extreme risk of injury. The one thing Fifa do say, although it is for guidance, is if it's 32C they will stop a match and play three 30-minute thirds rather than two 45-minute halves.

All these theories are a joke if they happen. But tbf, who really expects anything to change? It'll be in the summer, it'll be 2 halves, and they'll just use whatever available technology to keep the place as reasonable a temperature as they can.

Thankfully this belongs here.  Part of Twente's stadium has collapsed.

It kind of looks like they're were in the process of developing that end of the stadium.  I'd rather it have been caused by that than any structural weakness which could have caused the collapse at any time.

Would like somebody with a bit more knowledge on the situation to shed more light on it.

Lavezzi in talks with City according to Mancini's agent.  :undecided:

He should stay with the proper club he's at.

Impressed with their ambition by moving in for Sanchez, tbh.

Napoli have gone for Sanchez!?

saw it briefly on SSN while in the gym. Not sure if they were confirming that they are going in for him or just saying it was media speculation.
