Big Sam would of got us in the top 8

In spite of having to sell more than £30million worth of players he has put Rovers in a healthy enough league position.

His one regret is that he was not allowed to finish the job at Newcastle, where he was sacked by owner Mike Ashley.

‘If he had been a little more patient at Newcastle, I’m sure they would have been in a much better position than they are now,’ said Allardyce. ‘My track record would tell you that eventually we’d have been in the top eight or better within a couple of years.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2900110/Soccer-star-Marlon-King-in-jail-cocaine-swoop.html

JAILED footie ace Marlon King was caught with cocaine in a prison drugs bust yesterday.

A wrap of the Class A drug was found in his bedside cabinet during a cell search by staff.

The former Wigan Athletic striker also had a banned mobile phone charger. Married father-of-three King, 29, was last night being held in solitary confinement at Wayland Prison, near Thetford, Norfolk, as punishment.

His cocaine bust will end any last hope the former Premier League player had of resuming his career once he'd finished his 18-month sentence. An insider said: "Clubs won't touch him with a bargepole once they know he's been found with drugs."

King was fired from his £35,000-a-week contract in October.

He was convicted of molesting 20-year-old Emily Carr at London's Soho Revue Bar and breaking her nose when she tried to resist his advances. Prison chiefs are now investigating how King was able to obtain cocaine and the phone charger.

Two weeks ago, The Sun told how he was battered with a plate and left with a black eye during a jail dinner-queue row.

The Prison Service said: "We don't comment on individual prisoners."

Anybody know what's happened to Stephen Hunt from Hull?

I've got him in my fantasy football team and hasn't played in the last few weeks.  Not injured according to injuryroom.

From Geremi's wiki page:

On 31 January 2010 Geremi's transfer to Ankaragücü of the Süper Lig was announced; he signed a 1½ year contract with the Turkish club[7][8]. Rumour has it that the reason behind Geremi's transfer was due to financial difficulties, after a local cash poker player known as 'kice', was unable to sustain geremi's high payroll demand. After going broke after a 'let it ride' incident, 'kice' has had to endure a prolonged absence from the popular 5/5 dealers choice cash game in Aspers casino. This absence is said to have directly affected Geremi and subsequently he has since transfered to super lig, in what most believe is an attempt to find a new young and fearless cash player who enjoys nothing more than sitting down at the felt after a hard night on the town.

Premier League To Bag £1.4bn From Sale Of Overseas Broadcasting Rights - Report

The Premier League is reportedly set to double its income from broadcasting rights from 2010-13, which will generate an estimated £1.4 billion.

The Independent reports that the deals for telecasting rights in Albania and Russia are still said to be in the process of reaching fruition, but the earnings for clubs in the top-flight are set to increase from £10m to £23m from this summer.

However, it is said that the average boost of £13m per club will not be split evenly. Instead, some of the money is expected to go as parachute payments, which will supposedly rise from £11.2m last year, to £16m from next term.

Broadcasters are believed to have been in a bidding war to buy the rights to air Premier League games, particularly in Asia.

Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour's Abu Dhabi royal family are believed to have coughed up over £200m to win the rights for the Middle East and North Africa.

In some regions, however, the same partners are expected to be retained as Fox and Setanta will air the games in North America and the Caribbean, while Fox Latin will continue the same in South America. ESPN Star are also expected to continue broadcasting the matches across 18 major Asia countries.
