Taylor scored a great free-kick, and Ranger was a nuisance, couple of good attempts and accidently set up nolan's hat-trick. what a day that was, best away day in years. Fenham Mag
http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~2019733,00.html Ours and West Broms parachute money is being spread around the Championship since we both gained promotion the first year and won't receive the 2nd year instalment. It's a good thing imo but does that mean Boro will get even more money on top of there parachute payment. Bit unfair if they did.

Ketsbaia
DISGRACED soccer star Marlon King has converted to Islam in jail - and named himself after hook-handed hate preacher Abu Hamza. The former Premier League striker has been radicalised by Muslim inmates after being caged for molesting a girl and breaking her nose. And he describes vile Hamza - jailed for seven years in 2006 for soliciting murder - as his "hero". King, 29, has asked other lags to call him Abu Hamza Tariq. He is praying five times a day toward Mecca, demanding Halal meat and will only talk to Muslim inmates. He has already been to see the prison imam to discuss being converted. King, who played for Wigan, has also started discussions on the 9/11 suicide attacks in New York and the war in Afghanistan. Staff and inmates at HMP Wayland, near Thetford, Norfolk, are astonished by his behaviour. It comes weeks after the married dad of three was caught with cocaine in his cell. An insider said: "Marlon's gone from bad boy convict to devout Muslim in next to no time. He is talking about Abu Hamza as a hero - even though he is hated by the public. "Marlon has even talked about converting his family when he gets out of jail later this year. This isn't temporary - it's a total lifestyle change. Marlon reads books about Islam for hours in his cell." The insider also claims that King has obtained smuggled mobile phones for all the top Muslim inmates at the prison. King was jailed for 18 months last October for sexually assaulting 20-year-old Emily Carr at London's Soho Revue Bar - and attacking her when she tried to resist his advances. It emerged during his trial that the player - who earned £35,000- a-week at Wigan before being fired in October - has 13 previous convictions including theft, assaulting a police officer and wounding. King, who now wears a bandana, claims he will donate £25,000 to the Afghan people to help them cope with the fallout from the conflict. Amazingly, he has also told fellow lags that he will play for Premier League giants CHELSEA on his release - and claims a contract is waiting to be signed. The insider added: "It would be remarkable if a team like Chelsea would take on a social pariah like King." Last month a wrap of cocaine was found in his bedside cabinet during a cell search. He also had a banned mobile phone charger. Prison chiefs are investigating how King was able to obtain the Class A drugs and the charger. He was kept in solitary confinement for several days as punishment. The Sun told how two weeks earlier he was battered with a plate and left with a black eye during a jail dinner queue row. King is said to have "roared with pain" after being hit by a plastic dish after getting caught up in a brawl between two other prisoners. Wayland is a 1,000-inmate Category C prison with specialist sex offender treatment programmes for those who are willing to accept their offending behaviour. Steve Harper I can see where he's coming from. Surely you'd rather have a medal to say you won something, rather than came runner up, regardless of competition? would you rather have a Champions League runners up medal or a Waffa cup winners medal? Guest koye
No doubt I would have prefered to take part in a Fa-cup final, or finish third in the PL rather than winning the Championship. You don´t win anything in the championship in my opinion, because there´s a league above. The championship is about getting promoted, that´s it, if you win it´s obviously great tough.. JH
"Well done, this shows you won something" as opposed to "Well done, you didn't win this but you took part so here's a medal" - I get what Harper is saying. Thespence
27,750 - The attendance at Celtic tonight. The Irish don't do midweek league games live on SKY. The rest of Scotland not willing to travel to Glasgow for midweek game live on SKY. The Glasgow totally pissed off after getting beat by Ross County, being shit in the league & having a ginger in charge. Celtic like ourselves saw a increase in average crowds from the mid 90's. Sky & cheap flights being the main reason for them. 1946-47 19,860 1947-48 21,000 1948-49 37,205 1949-50 29,867 1950-51 28,768 1951-52 29,568 1952-53 23,933 1953-54 28,067 1954-55 30,654 1955-56 21,467 1956-57 17,706 1957-58 18,384 1958-59 18,411 1959-60 20,588 1960-61 19,324 1961-62 25,332 1962-63 24,643 1963-64 19,800 1964-65 18,284 1965-66 24,102 1966-67 31,082 1967-68 31,373 1968-69 34,740 1969-70 33,188 1970-71 29,647 1971-72 31,241 1972-73 26,606 1973-74 24,762 1974-75 22,775 1975-76 28,066 1976-77 28,063 1977-78 29,568 1978-79 25,303 1979-80 28,499 1980-81 22,836 1981-82 22,718 1982-83 23,740 1983-84 18,390 1984-85 20,827 1985-86 25,335 1986-87 25,311 1987-88 33,199 1988-89 31,713 1989-90 28,616 1990-91 29,012 1991-92 25,086 1992-93 22,684 1993-94 22,637 1994-95 24,601 1995-96 34,342 1996-97 47,504 1997-98 48,532 1998-99 59,271 1999-2000 53,887 2000-01 59,370 2001-02 58,587 2002-03 57,614 2003-04 58,516 2004-05 57,800 2005-06 58,149 2006-07 57,927 2007-08 56,
