Very talented but never properly developed because of constant injuries. Feel really sorry for him, must feel like a massive part of his life has just gone. Hopefully he will be able to get back to running around so he can be involved in coaching etc if he wants.

Poor attempt at ruining a thread mind :thdn:

Have word man. You know what you posted was poor get over it.

Its a poor stat for anyone incapable of reading it in context yes. Never suggested he scored goals at the same level as others, its was merely showing he could score them. Never mind though, its a stupid thing to have an argument over.

I can see him making a good manager actually. Like the coach from Bend it Like Beckham, whose career was also cut short by an ankle injury. He wanted those girls to achieve what he never did in football, and it angered him when they didn't realise how good an opportunity they had. He inspired Jess into playing the best damn game of her life in the cup final. It was beautiful.  :weep:

plus he'd get to see Keira Knightley in her bra!

Very good player and wasn't just about goals. He went on a run of 10 games with Norwich where he didn't score but was motm every game.

I rated him. Would have had him in this England team if fit, could do all the jobs that Heskey does for it with the added bonus of being able to score. Not a world beater but he had a lot of talent.

Scored 32 in 90 in the premiership, by no means a bad ratio.

How do you get to 32?

Score 31 goals, and then score another.

I was always against us signing him because of his terrible history of injuries, but it didn't stop many fans from wanting him here. We made the right decision in staying well away from that one. Shame as he was looking a promising target man when he was actually on the pitch.
