All the best players must be in Vegas?

Recommended Posts

To be honest though, this could just be a long weekend or anything, and they could still be available on the phone. I just don't think it's a massive deal.

Its all about perception though isnt it. Flying off to Vegas just doesnt give the impression that they are concentrating on the Transfer Window - whether it be rightly or wrongly. Fans, I think, like to know that their top boys are in their offices working on things. MA & DL seem incapable of avoiding this kind of thing.

It's not that they are incapable of avoiding it, it's that we seem to be obsessed enough with all things negative for the rags to warrent bringing up s*** nothing stories like this that by rights should be relegated to the 'media hates us' thread.

It's a shame because Farrington once looked like a decent scribe.

Nowadays he's as lazy and predictable as the rest of them and pens a repetitive weekly diatribe which insults the intelligence of Newcastle fans (although maybe not Sunday Sun readers ?) thereby treating us with the same contempt as those he so dearly loves to write about.

He should be bollocked for this lazy non-story and told to get off his arse and work for his money by writing something we didn't already know about.

It's not that they are incapable of avoiding it, it's that we seem to be uniquely obsessed enough with all things negative for the rags to warrent bringing up shit nothing stories like this about us to fret over. It should in my opinion be relegated to the 'media hates us' thread, not get unnecessarily wound up by.

I'm shocked it's only the Sunday Sun that's picked up on it because I think it's a fucking disgrace.

If we have a major release at work, I tend not to use my annual leave around that time because it's a bit of a busy period and I want to be available and at my best.

When did they come back? What were they over there for? Does Lee Charney not do all the spadework on the back of Hughtons reccomendations rather than Lambiarse anyway?

But no, despite there being almosty no substance to the story, it's 'a fucking disgrace'? Get away.

The substance is that Llambias is in Las Vegas when we've got 5 defenders and 3 weeks to get some back up for them.  3 transfer windows in a row have gone down to the last day with them spouting shit about working round the clock to bring bodies in only for fuck all to come of it.

I'd be very interested to see the answers to your questions too, but I seem to remember last January that it was Llambias and Kinnear supposedly at Darsley through the night trying to bring people in so don't pretend he has nowt to do with it.

When Jose is in the papers saying how we need players, is that aimed at Charnley or Hughton?  Is it bollocks.  They're powerless beyond identifying the player and completing the paperwork. It's aimed at Ashley and Llambias who have to finance it and negotiate it.

Fair point, but should they have to make every decision based on how the Sunday Sun might interpret it? They probably don't give  a shit about the tabloids, and I can't criticise them for that.

There should be no consideration of how the papers will interpret anything.  They should consider what's best for the club and to get what their manager is after in January.

Unless they took Ken Bates with them to ensure a deal is done for Beckford then they're taking the piss.

Well in that case we'll have to wait and see what happens before we criticise, no?

Maybe they'll have a little trip to Vegas and the club will still make the signings they would have anyway.

didnt everyone say it wasnt an issue for dennis wise to work from london for the same reason?

i doubt Llambias is going to be working 12 hour days, 2 phones on the go as well as his laptop, from his poker table in the Bellagio or the rooftop pool at the MGM. it's not so much that he can access phones, email etc, though that is an issue. it's wondering what the hell he is doing over there when, at this point, he should be going the extra mile working for the club at this pivotal time.

mind you, everyone should've realised ages ago that these aren't the sort of people who go above and beyond to make the club better, they're bare minimum amatuers who run nufc like a social club.

It doesnt really make any difference where Ashley and Llambias are if they have settled their business or can do it from wherever they are at the moment. The reason people get wound up is that every transfer window ends up being a major disappointment. Kilgallon was supposed to have signed last summer for example and has now effectively told us to fuck off. It would hardly be a surprise if the Beckford situation turns out to be a similar story.

Like others have said not really bothered where Ashley is but the pet poodle should be on watch ffs. This is not the first time this season he has had a fucking jolly either.

You cant blame Ashley wanting to take the cretin with him to Vegas I mean that city is what Llambias is about.

Bit poor crack if the senior official of Newcastle is not at NUFC home game on Wed.

so has it been established what they're doing out there then?

Nobody is really sure what a well known gambler & a former casino manager are doing in Vegas. Some people think they are emailing Ken Bates & reading Houghton text messages :mackems:. Aye thats it lads

No, because we have the experience of the last three transfer windows that allow us to criticise in real time as this one passes us by.

EDIT:  Stu man you bell end.  Log out when you've finished on my PC

I was thinking more of Del boy as the senior employee of the club rather than your Mike.
