Dave
Sacking Hughton would cost money.
Guest BooBoo
This is a must win game on Saturday and it'll be interesting to see if Hughton sticks with his chosen formation and reverts to 442. Personally i'd play both Shola and Carroll for this one.
Weezertron
Who'll lose out to Nolan in midfield?
Guest BooBoo
Hughton would drop Routledge and shunt Barton onto the right wing.
Tooj
Hughton would drop Routledge and shunt Barton onto the right wing. You know what, I was saying exactly the same thing the other day. Can totally see it happening.
Mick
Hughton sticking by Nolan will be what puts him under massive pressure because it holds us back.
Guest BooBoo
True. It's going to become a real issue for him/ us too. Making Nolan captain was Hughtons first real dropped bollock.
Dave
It's not so much of an issue with Ben Arfa crocked. Unfortunately.
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Hughton sticking by Nolan will be what puts him under massive pressure because it holds us back. The players try hard, they really do, to break free of Nolan's gravitational pull.
JH
I think the next time he plays Nolan and we lose, he should be sacked. tbh.

merlin
Defeats against Wigan and the Mackems will put the pressure on big-time...if it hadn't been for the fact that Ashley is unwilling to spend decent money, the results at home against Blackpool and Stoke would themselves have place any manager under some pressure. Only Ashley's knowledge that he will have great difficulty in getting a decent replacement will keep Hughton in a job beyond November if we lose the next 2 home games. Yorkie
If Ashley was willing to spend money we wouldn't have lost to Blackpool and Stoke. Hughton made mistakes in both games, but if we go down this year, it'll largely be because we didn't get the chequebook out this summer. We knew the squad was weak from an attacking point of view. Ben Arfa getting crocked is a fucking nightmare but we were bang short of decent cover anyway.

It was down to Hughton we lost to Stoke, he made changes to improve what he was seeing on the pitch & made it worse. Nothing to do with Ashley. Cajun
True. It's going to become a real issue for him/ us too. Making Nolan captain was Hughtons first real dropped bollock. Out of interest who would you have made captain? At the time it seemed the general consensus was he was the only realistic choice. It was a bit of a "would you rather lose your left foot or right foot" choice but their wasn't an abundance of obvious candidates.
Guest MrBrown
Nice to see people getting behind the team/manager like. They will once we have a good result. Then once we have a bad one, they'll slate him again. Actually, I think that might happen after good results too. Never mind.

As i hate GK captains i would have said Colo or Barton tbh although theres not a great deal of options for him in all fairness.
buzza
I am not being funny but against stoke we lost because of two mistakes, Blackpool was a blip and we just thought we could walk it. I can't really place blame at Hughton's door and I think he offers this club a huge added value that isn't taken into consideration. As for Ranger for Nolan; Nile makes too many silly passes and in the prem these can cost you a game, his concentration isn't great over 90 mins. Nolan is very professional, he doesn't make too many mistakes and he is constant... I also would be going with the seniors to keep us up although at home I think he could be a little more adventurous... Keep it up Chris!!
Cajun
Colo I'm not sure of and Barton just isn't reliable enough, imo anyway. I'm not sure Nolan being made captain was much of a mistake given the options, the amount of game time however..

Shak
Barton's a natural captain. Sadly, he's also a bit of a proven lunatic and until he goes a couple of years more without doing something stupid you can't really make him capatin.
Guest Roger Kint
Well obviously we all share those concerns over Barton but Keane was a proven lunatic too tbh. Maybe Barton would mature with the role, stranger things have happened, i saw Nolan substituted not long ago.....
Skeletor
I think we'll be getting the negative 4-5-1 tomorrow and Wigan will sit back and frustrate us with ease.
