Them Scottish twerps got banned from playing for their country for doing something not too dissimilar so with any luck Gary Neville will be banned from life  :knuppel2:

He's a twat no doubt, but the death penalty is a bit harsh like.

No-one would have realised if it wasn't broughtto the medias attention.

Aye.

A bit like how people are tortured to death at Guantanamo Bay in that respect.

If you read the rest of my post, you'd see what the main point in my post was.

I'm not Mike Ashley or Derek Llambias, calm down.

"Calmer than you are dude"

It sounds like you're saying players should be allowed to gesture and the FA shouldn't get involved because fans do it.

Was the main point of your post to make a joke?  ???

Why would a player be punished for a gesture that hundreds of fans do every weekend, which is then shown on live TV. If you're going to punish the player, you have to punish the fans.

Slow day for Ashley quotes?

You constantly seeing managers and players mouthing off to the referee, and it is quite easy to tell that they are using expletives.

It was pretty dissimilar.  That was to their own fans, not a player from their rivals.

Was it to their own fans? i thought it was to the cameras/media. I could well be wrong like  :kinnear:

It's ridiculous if they're going to punish Neville for this but not tackle the torrents of abuse that comes from players every single week. They're both just as bad for the image of the game.

i'd punish him for being gary neville

Are you really serious?

Do you know the rules of the game?  See law 12...

A player, substitute or substituted player is sent off and shown the red

card if he commits any of the following seven offences:

1. is guilty of serious foul play

2. is guilty of violent conduct

3. spits at an opponent or any other person

4. denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity

by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a

goalkeeper within his own penalty area)

5. denies an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving

towards the player’s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick

or a penalty kick

6. uses offensive or insulting or abusive language and/or gestures

7. receives a second caution in the same match

Fans aren't governed by the rules of play.  We don't get ruled offside and we're free to call the refree a twat.

Only sad wannabee yanks give the middle finger.

Internationally, I'm sure the middle finger is more renowned, and is therefore, a more suitable gesture to make towards an Argentinian. I'm sure Gary Neville weighed all this up beforehand.

Sorry, I have never took the time to read the rules in full.

An above-average full-back playing in a great side for the past 10-15 years who has deteriorated and all he has to offer now is a childish contribution to club politics by trying to wind up opponents in rival matches (when he's not injured).

It was to both.  The fans were booing them and Barry Ferguson was unpopular even before he stayed out drinking all night.

Him and Beckham had a quality partnership down the right flank for Man United and England. Quality full back in his prime.
