Wayne Routledge signs 3 year deal with Swansea

He's been s****, but still would have kept him til the end of the season... wonder if HBA is expected back sooner than we thought?

What relevance would it be anyway? They play in two different positions.

People keep mentioning Ben Arfa. Personally I think it'll be ages before we see him.

I don't think HBA can have the 10 shirt this season, can he?

Routledge would still be "ours" until summer so I don't see how it'd be possible to change the numbers mid-season. I dunno though, I've no idea how it works.

Even if we could change the shirt no, i dont think the club would change it due to the amound of BEN ARFA 37 shirts sold.

I did say I'd like Hatem to have the number 10- but I quite like 37 as well.

Stoke away at the earliest I reckon. He's not even back in light training, and it'll take at least 6 weeks from then.

I like Routledge and can't fault his attitude this season as he's generally had a good go. Unfortunately, he hasn't delivered consistently and looks far too lightweight in this league. If he goes then fair enough IF he's replaced by someone who can contribute and chip in with a few assists and goals. Barton's making the position his own at the minute though and he's not going to get a look in unless he's out or suspended as Pardew's XI for the derby proved. If he couldn't get in at the expense of Smith he's not going to.

He's essentially served his purpose by rubber-stamping our promotion when he arrived. It was money well spent in that respect but it may be time to give him a painting of a Spitfire and let him go. Slaps on the back and handshakes all round, cheers for everything Wayne, best of luck and see you next year.
