JH
If true, what an insanely stupid thing to do. Either bring him back for squad cover, or sell him to QPR for a fee. It's not fucking difficult.
midds
Why would we do something as stupid as that? You not been following Newcastle for the past few years? Still it does seem strange to do so. Well, yes. But even so... Too daft to be true.
AyeDubbleYoo
That doesn't make any sense. Why would we pay Routledge off now when we could sell him for money in the summer? Unless he's bought out his own contract or something, which seems equally stupid from his POV.
Guest Slarth
BS!! Ashley won't simply let a player go without him getting something!
Dokko
Pointless if true. Somehow the news would has been greeted far better had it been Alan Smith.
TRon
I'm surprised there wasn't a fee locked into the loan deal.
Ketsbaia
I'm patiently waiting for more details, but why the hell are we doing this? we're ran by utter retards. this sounds completely stupid.
mozy
Clearly something more to this.

AyeDubbleYoo
There must be more to it than just terminating his contract by mutual consent. I can't see NUFC agreeing to that for any reason at all, unless we're getting something back.
NG32
Queens Park Rangers are set to sign Wayne Routledge permanently after the on-loan winger had his contract mutually cancelled by Newcastle. The 26-year-old joined Rangers on a temporary deal in January and has become an integral part of Neil Warnock's table-topping side with four Championship goals. QPR have moved quickly to keep him at Loftus Road, with Routledge now expected to sign a four-year deal with the club who can secure their place in the top-flight with a win over Cardiff on Saturday. The former England Under-21 international had two years to run on his contract at St James' Park but was surplus to requirements under Alan Pardew and agreed a pay-off in exchange for terminating his deal. Full story: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-sport/football/article-23943169-qpr-to-tie-up-wayne-routledge-deal.do Bit of a funny one. We must have plans ! mmmmmmmmmmmmwhuahahahahahahahahahahahah

Stifler
Sounds like something has happened. He left to join QPR on loan while we had worse players still in the squad and we were still short in midfield, now his contract has been terminated when QPR were ready to buy him back. Sounds like something has happened and they can't wait to get rid of him.
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
Is he a bit of a dick or something?
Guest toonlass
Definitely strange. I remember when he moved on loan, he tweeted something and it sounded like he was resigned to leaving rather than desperate to go. He's been back and been out with the lads in town on a couple of occasions too.

johnnypd
doesn't make sense at all, but then neither did loaning him out without a replacement. we'd probably get a couple of million for him if we wanted to sell, so makes no sense to forfeit that. too daft to be true, but also too bizarre for someone to make up. Aye, can't believe we're yet again letting a player go on the cheap. Why does Ashley hate money. /please, lads, take off the elastic trousers off for once, eh. mrmojorisin75
didn't we get him strangely cheap and available from them, when we were headed up the league, now we're established they get him back on the brink of promotion? not sure where i'm going with this but some type of weird deal revolving around promotion/staying up seems pertinent
