Thespence
Pool consider Butt move Skysports.com understands Blackpool are considering a surprise move for former Newcastle star Nicky Butt. Butt is currently considering his options after leaving Newcastle at the end of last season following the expiration of his contract. It has been reported the 35-year-old is considering hanging up his boots and moving into coaching, but Blackpool are hoping to lure him to Bloomfield Road. Ipswich and Preston have both been credited with an interest in the former Manchester United midfielder and now Blackpool are keen to land the ex-England international. Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is looking to bolster his squad and he sees Butt's experience as a key addition to his side as they plan for life in the Premier League next term. Butt is expected to make a decision on his future soon, but he could be tempted to have one last swansong in the Premier League if Blackpool follow up their interest. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6243296,00.html

TRon
With England looking to rebuild using younger players, hopefully the penny has dropped at Newcastle as well. Especially after watching the Germans storm the world cup after ditching the old farts.

TaylorJ_01
Chris Hughton is so nice. Did he mean there would be transfer activity involving us after 'good performances at the world cup' or just activity in general?

Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
I had a dream a couple of days ago Nicky Butt joined Colin Calderwood at Hibernian, and I was at one of their games for a strange reason... And he scored with an overhead kick.

Guest je85
Scored on his South China debut, 2nd half free kick! I won't link the article as it has highlights on it, but the site boasts having over 100 great goals. Newcastle reducer Nicky Butt make his debut for Hong Kong based outfit South China. And Butt’s debut was truly memorable as the usually goal-shy midfielder morphed into a set-play master to score a second half free-kick in a 2-1 victory. Putting Butt’s goal-scoring debut into context, since the flame-haired enforcer first arrived on the scene way back in 1992 the former England international had chalked up just 29 goals in just under 440 career matches. In short, Butt is hardly prolific. Nevertheless, Butt looked Zidane-esque against TSW Pegasus. Bald-headed and sitting in the middle of the pitch, Butt former life as a tough tackler seemed just a memory as the Englishman tried to play a more creative role for his new employers. Unsurprisingly ring-rusty, several of Butt’s attempted passes came to nothing. But early in the second period Butt did hit the target as his free-kick took a deflection and wrong-footed the Pegasus goalie.
