Butt is currently considering his options after leaving Newcastle at the end of last season following the expiration of his contract. It has been reported the 35-year-old is considering hanging up his boots and moving into coaching, but Blackpool are hoping to lure him to Bloomfield Road. Ipswich and Preston have both been credited with an interest in the former Manchester United midfielder and now Blackpool are keen to land the ex-England international. Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is looking to bolster his squad and he sees Butt's experience as a key addition to his side as they plan for life in the Premier League next term.
