Bowie
Anyone that lives in Wallsend would have probably noticed the "22 - Tailored by Wallsend" painted on the side of Wallsend Boys club when walking past. I seen the white painted wall with "Tailored by Wallsend" at the bottom and when walking past the other day I seen them adding the '22' to it once England's squad had been released. Done some research and found out the 22 was for Carrick's England squad number and obviously his home town is Wallsend. http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2010/6/2/1275497046197/A-big-red-number-on-a-wal-011.jpg http://blog.umbro.com/2010/06/03/tailored-by-england-the-walls/ http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/gallery/2010/jun/03/england-hometown-tributes Canny idea I reckon. Interpolic
Aye, there was a full page advert in the Standard or whatever on the day the squad numbers were released. Never had a proper look - that's pretty cool how the Boyza's on there.
Doctor Zaius
Aye nice idea that. I'd love Ashington to create a murial of some sort, then again fitting in not 1 but 2 world cup winners, Newcastle's 2nd top all time scorer and a 2 time Ashes winning cricketer amongst others would be pretty difficult like. Fenham Mag
Pretty classy. Love Fabio's, although it will raise a few confused Italian brows.
Keefaz
Good idea, that. Must be inspiring to the lads that go there.

nobby_solano
That's cool I reckon my old school should have a sign like the old boarded windows 'waddler was here'!

MKSC
Agreed that it's a good idea, but it doesn't work for all of them. Peter Crouch for instance, tailored by Macclesfield. He was born there but spent the first few years of his life in Singapore before moving to London at about 5 iirc. One could suggest that Macclesfield had nowt to do with tailoring him, although he might have some silk pj's. Big ones of course.
GarethH
Brillaint idea. Quite thankful Adam Johnson got cut then, "Tailored by Sunderland".

Fugazi
Never knew that. Ohh well. Who does he support? Toon or the Scum? Wallsend is only 4 miles from the city centre, man. I saw the Umbro ad in the Metro, haven't passed the Boyza in a while though. I wonder what they would have used if the Boyza wasn't there, probably what's left of Swans. Aye, but that's what I'm saying. It's hardly his hometown is it. He spent less than a year of his life there as a baby. I doubt he'd consider it his hometown. Dokko
Shame he's more likely to cost us the world cup than win it. Should be fun to see what is written if that does happen.
