I really don't get the point of playing Milner out wide (left or right) instead of Joe Cole. Milner has had a great season playing in the middle, has nobody told Capello this?

Milner has never, ever been effective (or even convincing) out wide imo. When he was here I was desperate for him to get games in the center and I'm sure there were lots of people who agreed. Now he's gone on to prove that's his best position.

I agree though, surely Joe Cole is a more natural (aswell as more experienced and more talented) option out wide.

No Oba in the Nigeria XI makes me feel better about this.

The England team has been circulating on Twitter all day. Almost certainly based on what journos saw this morning at the training session.

Sky 'hearing':

James

Johnson Upson Terry Cole

Milner Barry Lampard Gerrard

Rooney Defoe

Positive: Defoe in for Heskey.

Negatives: Gerrard out wide again, Milner playing, no Joe Cole.

Bet that's a crock of s***.

Exact same on Talk Sport before SouthAfrica/France game.

Milner was dreadful against USA - he's way out of his depth.
