Spain have ball skill & control, didnt help them much against Switzerland.

Our main issue against Algeria was just a team getting to many men behind the ball for us to handle. Same as it was for them.

Dont really think theres much more to it than that. We couldnt deal with it, didnt have the space to create...that caused frustration and effected self belief. The longer it went on, the less they expected to beat the opposition. The lack of ball control is just related to that, hesitation in everything they do. Thinking about things to much. The ball/pitch wont help anyone atall either.

Slovenia will do the same again. One of our best chances is them being a little overconfident & leaving the game a little more open than they should.

The whole set up of english football is wrong from bringing in talent to the style of football we play in our domestic leagues.

Accept that its pish.

Lot of younger English players don't get into the top sides due to the number of foreigners, therefore they don't learn their trade properly, also our top players have too many intelligent descion making players around them and don't have to take responsability as much as they should. How many door openers does this squad have? The only one is being let go by his club, probably for the inclusion of another non-English player. Rules need changing, Arsenal for instance are a joke, what is the point of having a top coach and a top academy if all the young players are from France and Africa?

I said it didnt help them break down switzerland. Even for players with some of the best of those attributes in the world, it is incredibly difficult when near an entire team sits around their penalty area & waits for the counter. Been shown a few times in this world cup.

Being successful is much more about having a strong enough mentality to use the odd chance you do get with full confidence. Rather than letting the pressure effect your ability in that moment. We couldnt let it effect us more.

We have had good chances to score in this world cup. Some other teams are just putting it in when it matters.

upson ahead of dawson what the f*** is capello on?!!!

Isn't Dawson left footed like Terry? If so maybe Capello doesn't want two left sided central defenders lining up together?

Dawson and Terry are both right footed.

Ok my bad.

But do they not both play on the left side?

Terry, Ashley Cole, Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney would make all but the very best teams, imo.

Nice backtrack.

There was no backtrack, read the first post, I used the words 'just about'.

Honestly, get a fucking life.

England v Slovenia: German referee Wolfgang Stark to take charge of clash

The man accused by John Terry of disrespecting him in a Champions League tie has been given control of England’s crucial World Cup tie against Slovenia.

At least if we bomb out of the competition on Wednesday the press can indulge in some good old jingoistic jerry-bashing.

England trialed 4-5-1 in training with Gerrard 'in the hole' good news.

who is reporting this?

Anyone can surely see how good those players are. If Capello can't make a team out of them, he's failed and deserves the sack.

I'll call shenanigans on Lampard then, probably Terry too.

Cappello, who has won almost everything in the game of football, can't make Lampard work at International level neither could all of the other previous managers...so it's them is it?  And not Frank.

After Wednesdays inevitable goalless draw, Spaghetti Heads position will be completely untenable. What a f***ing disaster, Bobby would be rolling in his grave.

Bobby's record in his career was nothing compared to Capello's tbf.

How dare you slander the good lords name.

How about you take your rose tinted geps off?

Sir Bobby over eight years and 95 matches had a 49.47 win percentage.

Capello over two years and 26 matches have a 69.23 win percentage.

You had an absolute dross qualifying group this time around, though, which makes Capello seem more impressive in win % than Sir Bobby.

I said over their careers, which meant the comment wasn't exclusive just to England.

It's only Steve Mac and Capello who've failed. Lampard scored and created a lot under Sven.

I hope you are taking away his time at Juventus where he was manager when the match fixing went on then. (and got stripped of both his titles)
