Unbelievable
Martinez will either be inspirational or he will be be even worse than KKKenny. Sadly for him I think he will struggle because the fans won't take to him as they expect better and I just can't see his methods working from the off nor the more senior bigger players taking to him from the off. They need an experienced manager, a big name like Rafa or even Cappello. You do get the impression these days that the Liverpool job is becoming more of a poisoned challice with every doomed campaign. It's taken a while for Martinez' methods to finally click with the Wigan players. He won't get the time to do it at Liverpool. They already want him out and he hasn't got the job. Has it finally clicked with the Wigan players though..? Based on the Wigan Houdini acts after extremely slow starts in the last few seasons I would say Martinez has a knack for rallying the troops under extreme pressure, but is rather shit at deploying his methods under "normal" circumstances. In fact, looking at his managerial career I really don't see what the Liverpool owners apparently do and if I was a Liverpool fan I would be extremely worried to be fair. There are serious question marks about his suitability for the job before you even consider the huge pressure he would be under at a club like them, especially considering the fans are already on his back before he's even appointed. I predict it will be an unmitigated disaster if their owners decide to go down this path.
Ketsbaia
Liverpool and RAWK right now: http://tvmedia.ign.com/tv/image/article/122/1224618/wwe-raw-20120515015718362.gif Topical I don't think Martinez would do well there at all, so hopefully this happens. Dave
I like Martinez and think it would be interesting to see how he got on at a bigger club, but I wonder if he'd even be being considered if they'd started the season with seven wins in nine matches and then won just four more all year. I think not.
Revolution Number 9
Agent Bruce could do with another not-so-covert demolition job on a set of delusional mince pots... half the works done already even. It's like instant meltdown, just add Titus.

Exactly. His win percentage at Wigan is 26,77% - hardly impressive even for a "small" club like Wigan.
Revolution Number 9
Martinez would end up as Hodgeson MKII anyway. Pretty much hounded out of the position before he even began. It would most likely be a completely pointless appointment and a waste of a season, which is why I fully endorse the idea.
Guest Mantis
Having heard the dippers asking for Ancelotti and Guardiola today, it would be great to see them get Martinez. Having had to suffer all the crap about Toon fans being deluded and having Messiah syndrome, the scouse bunch are taking delusion to another level. Long may the rot continue. Guest Phil K
When the f*** are we renaming this club Newcastle United because this is what we have fuxking become!!!!! Maybe it's because they, like 95% of football fans in this country, believe every bit of crap the media TELL them is happening at NUFC, of which maybe 5% is actually correct. AND, like the media, they somehow find a way to blame the fans for what is out of their control. SO....when they see exactly the same happening at their club, it is reasonable to say what is said there. Liverpool fans, remember - attacked Newcastle fans over Dalglish's sacking here, and their local press went WAAAY over the top in attacking Newcastle, team, fans and city*....for doing what Liverpool FC have just done, for the same REASONS Liverpool FC have just done. The repulsive Phil McNulty, now at BBC I believe said "Dalglish should have know what happens when you lie down with dogs" Alan Oliver asked him to answer questions from Newcastle fans on his disgusting attack, but he wouldn't.
