Just seen Liverpool's first goal, very funny with it being that mob but why is Stuart Atwell still allowed to referee at this level, scrath that, any level?

Should have been struck off after the Watford/Reading "goal", the way a doctor would be. Lucky the FA don't run the GMC - "you've killed this bloke, no operations for you for at least two weeks."

Pretty much every other profession that involves split-second decisions can be subject to negligence claims*.  I don't see why football should be any different, especially where a disallowed goal etc. could potentially be a contributing factor towards a club/business being relegated/losing associated revenue.

* yes, it's probably the lawyer in me, but I'd love to tear a strip off a referee (and supporting body).  Some of the decisions are beyond reproach.

People would be too scared to ref if they could be sued for potentially lost of millions though.

It wouldn't be personal liability though.  The governing body would have to cover the payment.  We pay professional indemnity insurance to a specialise insurer who covers the firm's liability in the event that one of its lawyers gets sued.  You can bet your bottom dollar that, if a single case took place, goal-line technology would be forced through quicker than you can say "They think it's all over, it is now!"

I don't see why they can't, clubs must sign an agreement staing they can't.

A pathetic performance by us today. Our strike force make me laugh and cry at the same time.

How were Nsofor and VDV?

Obinna very good. Always looked dangerous, bullied are backline, good signing for West Sham. VdV was also good and our best player until he got injured in the 26th minute. Then he picked up an injury and wasn't the same.

Redknapp has made some bizzare decisions this season. Ranging from playing Roman Pavlychenko away from home, taking off Lennon in loads of games and playing narrow, keep using that invisible shite Dos Santos as a sub, keep using the cartwheeling gimp as a sub, not bringing in a striker this transfer window, selling Taarabt.

That Liverpool opener was an utter disgrace. Referee in massive logic fail and Steve Bruce was spot on in his post match comments.

- Big lack of sportsmanship

- Free kick was way further back

- Had they taken the FK forward from there, Ref would probably have had it retaken and Liverpool players would probably have complained.

Still, glad it's Sunderland who have suffered from it

Well apart from the fact Chelsea and Man Utd will fight it out for the title I've absolutely no idea who will finish where.

Agreed, I think there is a list of around 10-12 teams that could easily be in relegation trouble if results continue this way.

Very, very surprised bu the Taarabt sale. He is absolutely dominating the championship. Incredibly talented, and doing this under Neil Warnock of all people! Spurs will definitely regret the decision to sell him for sure. Sold him for peanuts too.

Bremen v Hamburg has been cracking!

Score?

Finished 3-2 to Bremen

It was a mistake thinking I could go from watching the end to end football of Bremen v Hamburg, to the dull lifeless showcase that is Roma v Inter.

He does seem less amazing since leaving Man U. Not sure if that's because we don't seem week in and week out destroying less cultured teams (WIGAN!) or not.
