ponsaelius
If there's one Man U player I'd actually like to see do well it's Berbatov. Gets FAR too much stick for a player as talented as him.

He hasn't even been that bad though. 12 goals and 5 assists in 24 starts last season. Not exactly horrific, plus he contributes more than just stats in terms of bringing other players into play. Definitely not been worth £30 million but he hasn't exactly been terrible.

Meh. I still love him as a player, he's become sound kind of clown figure in the English media like Forlan did. It irks me when that happens.
ponsaelius
Part of the reason he doesn't start though is down to the 4-3-3/4-5-1 that they play with Rooney as the focal point. Fergie's tactics have often marginilised specialist players, that's why attacking midfielders like Anderson and Veron never hit it off at Man U while nearly every winger they've ever signed has been a success. Legacy
Warren Barton is commentating on this game, didn't realise he was living in San Diego.. keeps referring to 'we' when asking when San Diego are getting an MLS team.

gazza ladra
Um... Legacy. As long as you're having a laugh at the jargon of the American commentators, I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that it's "Kansas City" not "Kansas". And Kansas City is in Missouri not Kansas. And, yes Warren Barton is a partner with a club in San Diego.

I only typed Kansas because I couldn't be bothered typing the full team names out, plus I kind of figured everyone would know who I meant.. Didn't know that about Warren though. Having a top class touch doesn't make him any more talented than other players with one outstanding attribute and several weaknesses. There's loads of players who are more effective than he is with less 'talent', give me one of them anyday.

Segun Oluwaniyi
Women's soccer is f***ing abysmal. I hope the U.S. is prepared to be comprehensively defeated by Nigeria's Super Falconets. I look forward to savouring this. I watched a disturbingly high amount of the first group matches on Supersport 3 last week. It's significantly more watchable than woman's basketball or men's baseball and golf anyway. It's still football. Charlyn Corral of Mexico has been my favourite player to this point. I feel like she is carrying far too much weight to be a top level player, but she is a little midfield maestro. The Yankee girls were senselessly beaten by the rampant Nigerians. On to the semi-final!!
