Guest neesy111
Ronaldo without doubt is the best finisher I've ever seen and imo best goalscorer of all-time. As overall player though, messi wins hands down.
Flip
Ronaldo without doubt is the best finisher I've ever seen and imo best goalscorer of all-time. As overall player though, messi wins hands down. Then you never saw Romario. Messi better overall player? If you mean of how much they were involved in the game then sure Messi is more involved since Ronaldo is a pure striker. However, Ronaldo was a much more complete player. He scored in every manner. And was just unstoppable at his peak. Messi si without a doubt my favorite player to watch at the moment, but to compare him to players such as Zidane and Ronaldo and say he will be greater is just to early in my opinion. Ronaldo was also 20-21. I've already said that Ronaldo at his peak is the best player of my lifetime. But peak isn't everything, consistent greatness is. But Messi was 22-23. Consistent isn't easy to have when you're injured every six months or so. But you'll never find a player who could come back from injury and perform at that level like he did. Village Idiot
Romário was the most technically gifted player I have ever seen. Sadly he was lazy and complacent. But really, his skill was utterly ridiculous. Current Real Madrid DoF Jorge Valdano used to say that he was a cartoon character because what he could do with a ball wasn't possible for real people. Gash
Sounds like Craig Gardner's brother (Gary) is really tearing Arsenal apart tonight, sounds VERY good according to reports.

Thought (probably rather stupidly) this would finally be the year they cracked it and got in the top 4 easily.

Thought (probably rather stupidly) this would finally be the year they cracked it and got in the top 4 easily. Me too. The EL triumph had given momentum and confidence to the club, they had a rather good transfer window... and then business as usual. They need more ambitious manager appointments. Abel was a poor choice and Quique Sánchez looks sharp in suits but not much more. They are the third biggest team in Spain by following, they should hire somebody that can stamp a style on the team. You'll be hearing a lot about him in the future. He's the best of the lot - better than Albrighton, Bannan and the ones with first team experience - but he's been out with a cruciate for a while. Mad result, I hope Houllier (and think he will have) has the balls to play Gardner, what i've been hearing (today especially) he's proper mint. http://www.arsenal.com/match-menu/3305232/reserves/aston-villa-res-v-arsenal-res?tab=report Gawd bless our kids. Are you worried by the reports of interest from Manure and Liverpool or is it just a general 'Good young player, big clubs interested' report? Edit: Also, what about the self-styled next "next Fabregas" Vidal, heard he'd called it himself is he any good?
leffe186
You did all notice that Arsenal had a player sent off after ten minutes, didn't you?

Newcastle Fan
You did all notice that Arsenal had a player sent off after ten minutes, didn't you? Its still 10-1 though man, and they had some really decent players in that side!
mrmojorisin75
The real Ronaldo was also a big match winner, something CRonaldo isn't. traced this back through the pages and i totally agree with this bit messi is the better player for me, there was an article recently in a broadsheet tearing into something marca wrote about Cronaldo being the better individual, wish i could find it now, shame

Edit: Also, what about the self-styled next "next Fabregas" Vidal, heard he'd called it himself is he any good? Never heard of this Vidal kid until last night, he's only 16, I believe. Gary Gardner is very promising, he's the brother of Craig Gardner, incidentally. I'd not heard anything of other clubs interested, he's been out for a fair while having done his cruciate, but he's one of a very promising bunch of kids. I think Ciaran Clark, Gardner and Albrighton are the best bets. In fact, I remember saying on here about two years ago that Albrighton was going to be quality and getting laughed at. Then he had a long term injury, and got ignored by O'Neill. In fact, had MON still been here, he'd be in the reserves still.
