Cajun
Baffling from Pardew. I'd rather he had a brilliant season last year and just run the risk of clubs being interested in signing him. If more players had had a good year, maybe we'd be in a better position to keep them even if others wanted them. Spot on.

He's just saying that him still being here is a positive that can be drawn from it. I know he's an idiot a lot of the time, but come on, the manager being pleased his players are playing badly FFS. Ikon
Personally i think what he said sounded and was idiotic.
Dave
“If he’d had another year like he did when we finished fifth, he probably would be gone. “So who knows, that might work in our favour this year given the fact he’s still here.” What a pathetically small-time attitude. You can argue about him, form/injuries/style of play etc, but not one NUFC fan can defend comments like that. How pathetic, man. Wouldn't be too sure about that. AyeDubbleYoo
I can't believe anyone is serious about that, it's such a nothing comment. Properly weird.

Minhosa
Essentially saying any of our players that have a decent year will be off to bigger and better. Thanks Al. Might as well not fucking bother then. On that note, glad Cabaye was shit last year, HBA injured half the time and Cisse missing mammals arses with banjo's. Fucking hell, what's the point? thomas
Basically an endorsement of fascism, when you get down to it, tbh. Pardew makes me sick.

tmonkey
It's like that Simpsons election campaign advert from Sideshow Bob about Mayor Quimby: "Alan Pardew supports selling your best players". "Alan Pardew doesn't even want your club to quality for Europe." "Can you trust a man who has had an affair with his own player's wife?". "Vote JFK for Manager." thenige
Staggering how many of our moves break down when he gets the ball either through poor decisions or horrendous technique. How has the player of a couple of seasons ago become this? Even in a bloody pre-season game.
Ronaldo
Because he's rubbish. Francis Jeffers looked like a good PL player for a couple of seasons.
Yorkie
There is a frightening element of "wtf is he gonna do with it" whenever he's on the ball. That cock-up near the end there... Jeebus. Let's hope that's just rustiness eh?
Mole_Toonfan
He can't be trusted that is the jist of it tbh. Sometimes his play looks passable but then he will do "that" in the league that's basically a defeat.
Pilko
If I was in charge and we were offered £8m I'd definitely take it. £5m I'd almost certainly take it still. Even £3-4m and I'd be considering it. He's absolutely hopeless and is living on his reputation from a few seasons ago.
Ronaldo
He's absolutely hopeless and is living on his reputation from a few seasons ago. Still, if he just keeps it simple 'ie becomes a much better player overnight' he'll be fine.
Guest
I guess he is what he is in the end. A £3.5m squad player ultimately. Had 2 good seasons but you can't trust him as a first-choice.
toontownman
its a worry things like that and his blatant push.. why would you even push someone two handed away from the ball. Clearly wasn't to stop momentum, player wasn't in a dangerous position either, totally unnecessary. He just wanted to push him out of the way. I wonder what the hell we do in training that we haven't talked about his recklessness. He obviously has a footballing brain the size of a pea. Elliottman
I think he tried 4 'long balls' that I saw and not one of them got anywhere near their target. Then that moment at the end just shows how utterly thick the bloke is.

I honestly think his training is just the staff and squad telling him how hard he is.

The manager clearly sees him as one though. I don't like writing him off but the coaching staff either need to get him playing in a more effective/useful style or drop him. They seem to be doing neither.
