Undoubtedly poor today, but would have helped if he'd had more than 5 balls played anywhere near him for 90 mins.  Most of the balls up to him were abysmal.

The balls (10+ in the first half alone) were played to him at chest height for a reason; when they go to his feet the ball ends up out of play.

Actually most of the time the ball was played to his feet, he didn't have any options on.  Movement around him was bad.

Not sure if serious.

It wouldn't have mattered if he had Messi one side and Higuain the other. He made a mess of every single one through failing to control it or standing offside like the stupid cunt he is.

Awful today, truly awful. Took a couple of lads along today who aren't Newcastle fans and they were genuinely shocked by how bad he was. Embarrassing really.

Just tell them he's an acquired taste..

I have defended him as Sholadinho for years. Not any more, lost patience with the bloke last week after the QPR game.

He reacts, he doesn't anticipate, he's a wasted shirt when in that mode.

I'm comfortable with him being 4th choice at the club. He has proved he can be useful coming of the bench (like vs Chelsea) and in the occasional match where he can get himself fired up (Mackems mainly). He should be nowhere near starting games however, mainly because he doesn't have the energy to be effective for more than 30 minutes. Even in the absence of numbers 1 and 2, I would expect Pardew to recognise this, and opt for a Best/HBA combination up top, a 451 with only Best up top (which wouldn't have been a bad choice away from home) or maybe even giving somebody like Vuckic some match experience.

Performances have plummeted from "passingly acceptable" to "Is that Alan Smith in a Shola mask?" levels so quick it almost seems like he's playing through injury again.  Hip/Hernia/Whatever it is now if I was Pardew I'd order a full medical on him.

It's truly depressing watching the ball canon off him any time he tries to bring it down out of the air or watching him be caught offside for 150th time or watching him stroll about without a care in the world. Even more depressing knowing he will be here until he retires.

In Shola's defence he was on a hiding to nothing today. We know that if we launch high balls towards Shola, and he's isolated, nothing good will come of it. Yet we kept doing it again and again.

Agree.  Shola was poor - but pumping the ball up to him as a lone striker against Hangeland is brainless.

thats not really even the point here, i understand heading is not shola's strong point, but even when the ball is played to him below head height he still cannot make it stick.

thats just not good enough for a premiership striker, controlling the ball and keeping it for a even a short amount of time is the least you expect from a footballer.

No more excuses please! Not a single one. He is terrible. Best should have been through the middle fromt he offset, as he is the one most likely to score, anyway. Shola is useless at this point. He doesn't even look like he is fit enough to be out there running around.

Absolutely dire.  Repeat of last weeks lazy performance and poor anticipation and ball control.  Does he have the offside record yet?  The fact he came out for the second half probably gave Fulham the lift they needed. How he stays on the pitch after loping around for so long is ridiculous.

normally defend him but his last two games have been very poor,  it was a toss up today though for who was worse Shola or Best,  both hopeless although at least Shola had a couple of efforts on goal.
