The first season that Nolan's done something in his career at the top level and suddenly he's been a better player than Kieron Dyer has over the course of his career :mackems:

first season that Nolan has done something in his career? What are you..... 12 or something? Nolan has been a more consistent PL preformer than Dyer. End of.

Dyer was talented..... but I frankly couldn't give two flying shits when you waste that talent.

More consistent PL performer? :mackems:

That's why the Bolton fans were glad that he was sold to us for a paltry £4m, right?

Consistently average, sure.

Dyer was consistently good to very good in his time with us. That's why we finished very high up the table in the years that he was fit. Injuries cost him games every season, particularly his last season with us and his time with West Ham, but Dyer was an excellent footballer who achieved things that Nolan can only dream of.

I'd much rather have the Toyota because it's better value for money and there's a speed limit. The Ferrari may occasionally come out a look flash, but it'd sit in the garage most of the time, the Toyota would get much more functional use.

If the race was between 18 cars the Ferrari would likely finish in the top 4 among the big boys while the Toyota would be happy to shuffle in 10th every season while singing the virtues of their favourite racer the Lamborghini. "what a top, top team! I'm so happy for my driver he's with such a great car!"

Think it was a metaphore to the limit of games one can manage a season, and what a beautiful metaphore it was.

I thought the bit about it sitting in the garage was saying how Dyer was a crock :undecided:

:spit: :spit: :spit: WTF?!

We were glad to see the back of Dyer, too. Dyer was was consistently frustrating for us, especially with his end product.

And what are those things that Dyer has achieved that Nolan can only dream of? Being a shit England player? Maybe I should show you a picture of that Brazil shirt that Dyer has got to find out what he, himself, has written on it?

Baffled by the hyperbole over Dyer in here like. He was fast, direct and could dribble, in that sense he was exciting and useful -- literally every other element of his game was lacking both in the final third and defensively. He looked a better player than he was for being part of an attacking force featuring Shearer, Bellamy, Robert and Solano, but it was still apparent to the vast majority of Newcastle fans at the time that he flattered to deceive.

I'd rather watch Dyer at his best than Nolan at his best.

Well yeah, but how often was he actually at his best?

Besides, I'm not even comparing the two. I'm just baffled by the adulation he's receiving.

Dyer only seemed to be at his best when he was coming back from injury, which to be fair, was quite aften.  He seemed to regain his fitness and then just slacken off.

Dyer could have been a fearsome player if he had some end product. He was a terrible finisher. But when it came to speed, stamina and agility he was superb. He dominated more and more as the game progressed since all the opponents got tired, while he didn't-

I'm astounded by the support for Dyer/hatred towards Nolan like. Dyer was so overrated it was unbelievable. Could have had Linford Christie there and he'd do the same job.

Since the beginning of the Premier League, only Lampard, Scholes, Speed & Gerrard have scored significantly more from his role really, he's just behind the likes of Bowyer, Cahill & Poyet who everyone's rated highly at some point.
