Segun Oluwaniyi
I really don't understand what some of you people want, tbh. The reports from yesterday are true, Jonas wanted to keep the story out of the news, the club offers its support to him. This is all we need to know. I am sure some sort of gesture will be performed at the Hull match now that his condition is common knowledge. I would much rather focus on the health of of someone who has entertained me countless number of times, then use speculative information as another way to rubbish the club. There are already so many avenues for that anyway...
Foluwashola
Well said Baba Hope we manage a good few minutes of Jonas appreciation on Saturday amongst the outpouring of anger.
KaKa
Strange how the club haven't said anything today. Even just a tweet or short statement to say we are thinking of him. Read on Twitter people saying they're obviously waiting for a bigger gesture etc....that's bollocks Incredibly distasteful and crude. Have a word with yourself. Oh shut up man I wasn't making a joke, just a poor choice of word in the circumstances. I lost one of my testicles 10 years ago so believe me I don't find any of this funny So sorry, only just seen this! Thought it would be obvious I was just joking. I had already seen Wullie's response after all!
mrmojorisin75
there's surely no way the club have heartlessly cut adrift a player diagnosed with cancer like, whatever else they might be there's just no way i can bring myself to believe they'd do that
LooneyToonArmy
Jonas Gutierrez: Newcastle's genuine, larger than life midfielder who never says no to an autograph http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2760159/Jonas-Gutierrez-Newcastle-s-genuine-larger-life-midfielder.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

But what I can't understand how Pardew can be so cold blooded and ruthless to tell a man who just came back from cancer treatment to train with your team, to basically go and find another club. Yes, he was probably being honest with not having Jonas in his plans, but ffs, I couldn't have done it. And Jonas specifically pointed it out that it was Pardew who told him to leave. If he liked Pardew, he wouldn't have mentioned the cunt's name out to dry.

If he's done that, as coldly as it seems, then he's gone a lot further down in my estimation, which I didn't think was possible. Until I hear otherwise I'm going to assume there's a little more to the story as I find it hard to accept that even pardew has done that.
Guest
Pardew's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't in this instance mind. He would have been shot with shit if he'd kept him and that was him getting game time last season towards the end of the season when he was playing people like Gosling. He'd never say just 'beat it' because the following line 'is no one wants to be defeated' Clearly not something Pardle buys into.

Guest
If Jonas had come back and wasn't fit enough to play football and we'd done that then yeah, that's shit treatment. Jonas said himself though in January he was expecting to play football, which was never happening here.
LRD
If Jonas wanted playing time rather than rot on the bench, and it was a footballing decision to let him go on loan since he wasn't in our plans, I don't see much wrong here.
Kanj
All i really care about now is him getting himself cancer free and smiling, joking, and hopefully getting his wonderful hair back. I was tired of his decline as a player, but he'll always be remembered in a small bracket of players who I'll always have the utmost respect and care for - he stuck around and helped us get back in the PL and did so as a top, top bloke and a real "ambassador" of the club, the club I'm referring to are the passionate fans who give everything for this club. AyeDubbleYoo
Agree, much love to Jonas. He wasn't the player he promised to be when he arrived, but he put a shift in at all times.

Agreed. I just wonder with the benefit of hindsight how much his decline was due to his illness.
