He's had all sorts of abuse on here "not a footballer" etc. But I like him, he's not a conventional wide player but he is a constant threat down our left that the other side cannot ignore. He draws in opposing defenders, wins free kicks and takes the pressure off our defence. He does a good job for us imo.

Nail on head.

x 2

That will be the number of goals he set up tonight then  :snod:

Both crosses tonight with his left foot btw.

I've allways wanted to see Jonas on the right, managers just seem reluctant to play him there for whatever reason though

Agreed. At least then he'll be on his strongest foot. Very strange that he is a left-winger, he's rubbish at cutting inside and has a poor left foot.

His left foot crosses are arguably better than with his right.

:)

He was just as good tonight as he has been for a few games now, the only difference being that his decent crosses were actually put away. His crossing has been so much better in the last month or so.

I'm an advocate of Jonas, but he wasted some really good positions on Saturday

Dare I say "The Pardew effect" ? both him and Jose plus Simpson have all seemed to have sorted some of the iffy parts of their play.

I think cause Pardew likes the fullbacks to get higher up the pitch, Jonas has a bit more space to do his thing. He's not as off balance trying to simultaneously skin 2 players and cross unlike before and it's evident in his new found accuracy.

I don't think Simpson's particularly improved, he's been as solid as he's been all season imo. Jonas and Jose have definitely taken it to another level of piss-takery though.
