Guest Mantis
The atmosphere at the weekend was strange. It bordered on the apathetic to the extremely vicious at times. I was in the usually placid East Stand and some of the comments regarding some of our new players were shocking to listen to. People are just waiting to kick right off. I likewise do not know a single person with NUFC in their heart be it those that go to games or older folk who keep up to date with things via the radio and press, who is happy with things at the moment. many I know look at Pardew as the sinister backstabber who took the job of saint Chrissy Hughton, a mate of the evil Ashley and Llambias, a mouth piece, puppet and above all else, seriously average manager. People are p*ssed off and a defeat against the unwashed could result in ugly scenes. As far as I'm concerned Pardew can do nothing to win over me. I don't care if he masterminds a 5-0 win over the mackems, he for me is a poor manager but worst of all, a contemptable person, one I don't want associated with my club in the same way I don't want Ashley, Llambias and any other tosspot associated with my club. I long for honest, hard working, decent people with a degree of passion and humility about them. They don't have to be world-class at what they do, I just want to see my club represented by good guys. People like Hughton, Sir Bobby, KK, decent people with the club's best interest at heart. Spot on. I said a few weeks back that it is a matter of time before trouble starts to brew in the stands
BONTEMPI
Think most of us said Pardew will be judged on his actions in the transfer market and how he would address the issues we've had for years. Give him to the end of the window then call for blood.

Keefaz
Wish we could just keep a manager for more than five minutes. Who can really say, with any authority, he's still going to be here at Xmas? http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/1633/seasons.gif Eventually we're going to be changing managers every bloody week. TherealnorthernTOON
I for one think we are in a transition period. We will finish mid table this season aswell. Maybe next too, then we might push for the higher ends. We will get more talented players. Some of our more talented players will leave for CL chasing clubs during this period, thats a part of the plan to raise the funds needed to make a push. A push for a top side costs sustainable amount of dosh theese days. If we aren't a well run club to start with we have no chance to get up there without going into bankruptcy if we fail. A part of the plan should be, if things fail, we won't die as a club like leeds. But with the kind of base allready here the club should be able to push higher and fall back on the loyalty of the fans if it fails to do so. And then again raise the funds over a couple of years and get rid of the players who failed the push. Do it over and over again you will end up like tottenham. All their players got decent wages, modric was on what? less then 50k? I so bet we bid alot more then that for him during the shepherd time.
