Consider when he arrived no-one really rated him that well, he'd has his chance in the premier league and blown it, he had been sacked from southampton and been out of a job a while. If he'd blown that first half a season and been sacked again he would not have made it back to the premier league for a while I'll bet.

Got a long contract as a statement of intent and shown he belongs here. He's impressed me by not just being a short term motivator like MON but bringing in players and integrating them keeping team spirit. He maybe has some improvement to go on tactically, he is infuriatingly reactive at times, but at has also improved over the course of the season and developed.

I do not want him to be our manager one bit but the fans can't get on his back from the off, what's the point? Do people actually want us relegated?

I know someone will come back with "he will relegate us anyway" and to be honest they will probably be right but getting on his back is only going to make it an absolute certainty.

Support the team, support the club. You don't have to support the manager but "making your feelings known" is stupidly counter productive to the team you "support" having any sort of a chance.

 People forget we're not here to support the manager, we're here to support Newcastle United.

Feel a bit embarrassed at how disappointed I was when Pardew got the job. Ah well I suppose I can mask it as being pro-Hughton rather than anti-Pardew.

Thoroughly deserved and I quite like that he got it without winning one of the monthly prizes.

Me too, never really commented on this thread TBH. That Liverpool game seems so long ago now.

The negative shit was warranted at the time. We lost a really likeable manager who was actually doing pretty good with us and he was replaced with Pardew who to be fair, didn't exactly set the world alight before coming here. He proved us and everyone else wrong and thank fucking god he did, these words have never tasted so good.

Never been more delighted to eat humble pie.

While I never slagged the bloke off, i wasn't happy at his appointment.

And the job has done wonders for his standing too, let's not forget.

The job has been a Godsend for him. He has even been linked as one of the top 3 mentioned for the England job.

I´m so glad that I´d was listening at the "phone in" tonight. Because if I loved Pardew before I´m just doing it even more now, and most of all, I feel so confidence for the future. Pardew is so wise and have just the right thought regarding the club, the city and the future. No matter what we are in great hands, and that is not just becuase of Pardew.

Fantastic achievement. First up I could not understand the thinking behind the appointment but I never believed the "casino buddies" stuff and, from early days, I thought I saw something in him that Hughton could not give us - so have always given him a chance (fantastic to see doubting posters now re-quoting their early condemning posts - genuine respect for that  O0). Every genuine fan has to be delighted with this award.

Imagine if someone had of told us he's going to be the best manager in the league soon when he was appointed or even in the summer they would have been considered to be either takin' the biscuit or else delusional.

He's been nothing short of brilliant over the course of this season.  From all levels that have been been much talked about, publicized and so on. Fucking Brilliant.

I remember my initial feelings of uneasiness when he was appointed and I deferred to many posters opinions on him as I had no real read on the man. I was a little uneasy about that rough patch we had, but reading between the lines you could see there was something positive about everything he was trying to achieve. My favorite part is that we'd all be moaning about certain decisions, and rightly so - but he was able to LEARN from his mistakes and we adapted, each time.  He has a vision for this club, and if we can hold on to our spine in the team and continue to build - I have no doubt he can achieve something truly great here at our club.

Fully deserved award gaffer, bring on Sunday now.
