Thespence
Shola & AC doing a really good job closing down the Liverpool full backs forcing there CB's to move the ball up field.

LesPaul
Half time: Decent application. Look miles better with Nolan and Barton back, as expected. Riding our luck at the back. Liverpool are rubbish, but I still think they'll score. Be disappointing to not pick up at least a point. Ref is a f***ing joke. Still feel very guilty about not celebrating the goal. Sums it up alright.

cubaricho
I almost forgot what it felt like to be so unsure of our defense. Every time they bring the ball forward I break out into a cold sweat.
Cronky
Both teams poor. In Liverpool's case, unexpectedly. We've had a few narrow scrapes and I don't expect our luck to hold out for another 45 minutes.

LucaAltieri
Enrique and Jonas blatantly do not want to be here. Agree, sadly. Sloppy but full of running and still usually central to any good passing moves we've had.

Shearergol
Enrique and Jonas blatantly do not want to be here. Agree, sadly. How can you tell with Jonas? He's always like this. Enrique has been poor for the last couple of games. You think he knew CH was leaving before CH did?
Memphis
Given all the incredible upheaval this week, today is definitely all about whatever result can be scraped out, not the quality of the performance. Which is good for Pardew, because despite the 1-0 lead, the performance has been really uninspiring and scrappy. Not keeping possession very well, allowing them to completely control the game, relying upon the few set pieces we're getting to give us chances. Tiote's been awesome, Barton OK in spurts, but Nolan's playing deeper than under Hughton, making the link play between the midfield and the strikers harder. Jonas and Jose have been very subdued and the defense has been just about good enough without making you feel at ease. Edgy game.
Guest TrueToon
Enrique and Jonas blatantly do not want to be here. Agree, sadly. I noticed that, their attitude is poor today, We saw it coming though, Enrique said he wanted to see a big name, We appointed Pardew so even before the game I imagined he'd be un-happy

Belfast Boy
Half time tactics must be based around getting at Johnson. He is a woeful defender at the best of times but since he got a card we have not had one single run at him. Unfortunatley when Jose and Jonas have a poor day we have no options at all to freshen the left side up.
Mr Logic
I personally think we've been absolutely awful in that half, lucky to be ahead. Enrique is having a mare in particular. Better than the WBA showing, certainly not playing at our best I agree though.
Beren
Still feel very guilty about not celebrating the goal. I couldn't help myself, I sorta feel guilty for celebrating. The correct protocol was a muted/truncated celebration. A powerful fist clench and maybe a grunt of relief, then a slow unclenching and pensive countenance as you remember... Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
I almost forgot what it felt like to be so unsure of our defense. Every time they bring the ball forward I break out into a cold sweat. When Taylor and Campbell came in for the Chelsea game, despite on paper them two being better in the air than Colo and Williamson, I get a lot more nervous from corners with them there. Aye. Far too early to be reaching those conclusions based on one half. We'll see.
