Guest toonlass
When are the FA going to clamp down on these at the Stadium of Light? Today Harper was pushed over, last time we were there Shay was confronted. What's to stop a proper assault or even a stabbing? Might sound far fetched (and probably is extreme) but people on RTG were telling others to invade the pitch if they scored. All it takes is one idiot off his head on drink to go off on one and you have a repeat of last week at Stevenage.
Guest axel
Should do like the ref did in the game with Sweden and Denmark. Give the away team a 0-3 win and the home team big fines.

AyeDubbleYoo
It's difficult to stop though, isn't it? Unless you have thousands of stewards, the only way is to actually make it physically impossible to reach the pitch... which would involve dangerous barriers and fences that we don't really want to see. Disco
Make them play behind closed doors, that'll soon teach them. It happens abroad so there is no reason why it shouldn't here. Hit them where it hurts (the fans can't watch the game and the club in the pocket).

Ryan_Taylor
Stabbing really that far fetched when one of them managed to get a knife in? Maybe they need impartial stewards rather than local fuckheads

Maybe, dont use North East stewards. Or use ours, wouldn't get on the pitch then
Dokko
What do you expect when Bruce has them all dancing to his tune/song, wound up to high heaven ready to cause trouble and generally be bigger cunts than usual. Bruce pitched this one like it was two warring nations and some of their fans didn't have the intelligence to realise he'd slapped a rabid dog in the face and incidents of knives, pitch invasions, crowd trouble & attacks on players were casualties of war that Bruce created. He'll take no blame in any of this and criticise fans who have taken it too far, but as a leader of a club, as the vocal communication throughout this build up he's made massive mistakes and his intent to cause a riot was there for anyone with half a brain to see. The FA will do FA as it is what they do best, but if they did they really need to question the whole mentality of their fans and their manager and report back to us to which one is the bigger cunt as i'm torn. Agreed - Bruce's rants about revenge and piss taking songs this week made the post match violence much more likely. He was very unprofessional. This is not an isolated incident as it happens every time we play at the SoL and that's now two successive games where they've confronted/assaulted opposition players. With talk of knives and other weapons being easily smuggled into their ground the authorities MUST act before someone is killed or seriously injured by the Sunderland fans. wormy
I love that fat face has come out to condemn the idiot this time. Hasn't he said in the past when it's happened 'it happens, they get excited' or some bullshit. He fuelled it more than others this time, as usual he's giving the soundbites that furthers himself. Doesn't give a shit what happens really, whatever makes the best quote for himself.

RupertCommunicator
Pitch invasions can easily be stopped. Just make it a jailable offence to enter the field of play as a spectator with decent jail times (several months) dieshed out. Guarantee no one will invade the pitch then. Guest Stephen927
Happens far too often at the Stadium of Light, and it goes unpunished. One time it'll happen and it'll not just be some idiot pushing a player, the stewards can't search everybody for weapons, and when you take into account just how easy it is to hide something like a pocket knife, it's an accident waiting to happen. Matches behind closed doors, fines that actually mean the club taking a sizeable hit etc.
