Reminds me that one of my recurring drunken football arguments is that players should wear paper shirts (Or a material with similar properties) so that any shirt pullling just leads to the offender being left holding a handful of paper whilst the attacker runs off.

 

Instant booking for the offender because he can't deny the offence when he's standing there with a handful of shirt, and doesn't actually stop the attack either.

thats the barcode shirt so Kelly is right imo, sure its from the Southend game at start of 92-93

It’s Kelly, opening game 1992 against Southend, Bracewell scored a screamer on his debut. We’d win the next 10, O’Brien over the wall then bloody Jim Dobbin.

We absolutely battered Grimsby (good pun there…) and lost 1-0 to this screamer. Someone in a post elsewhere was on about applauding opposition goals, this is an example of that.

You sure? Seems a big turn out for an opening game v Southend after narrowly escaping relegation to the third tier the season before. I thought it was a wet day for that Southend game too but a long time ago so not sure.  Not saying you're wrong of course. It just surprises me.
