Delayed due a bomb-scare, three players sent-off and as you said, it looked like we were down to the 3rd tier for the 1st time ever. Imagine telling you that day that in two years time we’d finish 3rd in the top flight and in four years time we should have won the top flight! I only went to Blackburn and Cambridge away in the 91/92 season (my first season as a ST holder). Blackburn was absolutely mental I remember. Probably 4k of us in the Darwen End. David Speedie scored at hattrick for them and took great delight in antagonising the away end. Quite a few tried to get onto the pitch to get hold of him.
