Aye me cousin sent me that pic, was saying still best away end he's ever been in to this day. Think it was @Wallsendmag or @Whitley mag who said a similar thing when talking about match atmosphere but could be wrong

Aye brilliant atmosphere, think it was an Easter Monday looked doomed to relegation and support was relentless for the lads.

Some great atmospheres in the run in that season, Portsmouth at home being up there with the best and Leicester away on the last day.

David Kelly v Portsmouth was possibly my favourite toon goal ever. Not a goal of the season contender by any means but the importance, the ecstasy and feeling of sheer relief of seeing that go in were absolutely massive.

Never seen the place celebrate a goal like it since to be honest.

Liam O’Brien, Andy O’Brien …

edit: is there still a massive framed photo of this up in The Adelphi?  Haven’t been in there for years

Doubt it mate, it’s no longer the Adelphi, it’s been Lady Greys since 2011😆

Liam O’Brien: “We went for a few pints that night. A fan said ‘You don’t know what you’ve just done’. I thought ‘Oh, ok’ but, sure enough, 33 years later, they’re still singing. It’s great to hear them chanting my name.”

Love it too, from a photographic perspective hopefully not because of what it shows. For me there feels something more real and authentic about pictures like that capturing moments than close ones - not necesarily pitchside - but something showing the crowd, same with like fan photos at matches (or events) and the old stadiums.
