TRon
Oh, he was being paid to spend the past 4 years signing players not fit for PL football, then? Ok. How do you decide on who's fit for premier league purpose? Danny Simpson has a premier league winner's medal round his neck right now, did you predict that? I think we all predicted that we would probably struggle to score goals with a 21 year old kid that's new to the league as our main striker this season. How do you decide on who's fit for premier league purpose? Danny Simpson has a premier league winner's medal round his neck right now, did you predict that? You've spent the best part of a year (rightly) alluding to the fact too many of our players can't compete physically and that Steve McClaren is a shit manager. Now you're saying the bloke most responsible for bringing them here isn't culpable.
Hanshithispantz
having a decent coach changes everything It does aye, which makes his recommendation of McClaren all the more baffling. Would be like recommending your mate buy a selection of great 4k Blu-Ray disks alongside a cathode ray TV.

They already won it this year, it was a canny big thing. Odds were like 50,000/1 or something.
Nobody
Nah but the Leicester scouts did. Maybe they'll win the title again next year then. I wonder what the odds are. Leicester, just like 75 % of the league, didn't sign players last season to try and win the league. They just happened to do it anyway.

That's why I didn't advocate selling Cisse unless we signed a proven striker which we didn't.

An ageing Cissé who hasn't been motivated here for 2 years and spent large spells out injured last season. Not the two most reliable strikers IYAM. Hanshithispantz
Honestly man, McClaren didn't even want Thauvin and he brought him in Pardew spoke multiple times about having disagreements with him but "he'd always win," obviously not, hence why he brought in Anita and Yanga-Mbiwa to sit on the bench. Now you're saying the bloke most responsible for bringing them here isn't culpable. It depends on the manager's remit. I've always thought that the spine of the side should compete physically, that goes from the goalkeeper, to the central defender and central midfielders. Strikers not so much. You don't need big strikers if you can attack on the counter.

We've just lost £100m partly due to him not being good enough in the Premier League. We lost £100m due to Ashley's policy of hiring shit managers and the insistence on buying players under 25 to be sold for a profit rather than buying what we needed. Carr might be a crap scout, but it's the lack of direction from the top echelons which has got us relegated.

HawK
Actually think Carr is the very least of the problems we have. The 5-1 showed what 'his' players can do with the right motivation (i.e. management). I think for a head scout he's actually done pretty well, all clubs have signings that flop and more often not we've done well, with obvious exceptions like Cabella (who we only signed because Kinnear undersold Cabaye) and Thauvin. Gouffran, Marveaux, Cabella, Thauvin, Mbiwa or whatever he was called, Riviere, Haidara, Amalfitano, De Jong x 2, etc. Carr has done an absolutely shocking job in total. Guest chopey
How many of Carr's duck eggs were his first picks tho ?. He was going crazy about Aubameyang a couple of years ago and telling us to sign him at all costs but we dilly dallied about and he ended up at Dortmund.
