WarrenBartonCentrePartin
1557: FOOTBALL Left-back Nicky Shorey rejoins Reading on a one-year deal. The 31-year-old was released by West Brom at the end of last season and is now back at the Premier League newcomers. Thankfully eliminates the nightmare scenario of us possibly signing him. Also eliminated the orgasmic scenario of the mackems signing him @ 60k pw... and then preferring Matthew Kilgallon at LB.

Tiresias
Have City done anything yet this transfer window? Know they'll probably end up with Van Persie, can't see why they want him but are they really having to offload players before Mancini is allowed to sign anyone? They really rather need a defensive midfielder, guess they really wanted De Rossi but he's decided to stay in Italy hasn't he. Can see them after Javi Martinez in a big way. Tiresias
I'm just worried it'll get to the 11th hour and they'll decide to flood everyone with huge offers on deadline day just to be arseholes and tiote will be off or something

Due to FFP they are trying to offload all their unused high earners. Think well see Kolarov, A. Johnson, Dzeko, Santa Cruz, Adebayor all shifted. To make way for RVP, a centre-half and a defendive mid.
Deuce
Liverpool planning to bid £7.5m for Clint Dempsey (Mirror) Stoke waiting for MLS to confirm transfer of Houston Dynamo/USMNT CB Geoff Cameron for $2.7m (Sky)
SEMTEX
He's not very Stokey IIRC. He's a converted midfield player. More of a Colo than a Huntington IMO IYAM NTISHP.

Deuce
27 and only 5 caps for US? Good enough for the Prem? Only been pro since '08 (college). DM/CM converted into CB last season, loves to get forward. Pretty good with the ball at his feet. I actually expect him to start for U.S. in Brazil. Stoke is definitely an odd choice. Though he can get the ball down the field one way or another.
