Guest bimpy474
Missing as usual. Didn't think that, he showed for it but just didn't create with it for me.

Wullie
Sensationalist OTT bollocks. He has a point, though. Cabaye's done nothing really so far this season and his set pieces are very poor 100% of the time. I don't really get this, alright he hits the front man now and again but I'm not sure what more he can do a lot of the time. Every free kick within sixty yards he's told to launch into the box despite the fact we don't have the players for it, and his corners generally go around about the penalty spot. There's only so much influence the taker has at a corner. The bigger problem is that our players all pose absolutely zero aerial threat, which begs the question why do we work set pieces the way we do? The corners they scored from weren't fantastic but the movement was, in fact the second should have been cleared at the front post, as one of ours would have been. Dave
I thought he had a decent game really. One of our better players. This. Wasn't much different to his good performances against Norwich and Bordeaux IMO, yet the reactions would suggest he went from shit to world class and back again. Ronaldo
The corners are the least of it. He's so easy to bully out of the game he's virtually invisible at times.
Ameritoon
If anyone I don't think he deserves a lot of criticism, one of our better players after the two goals.

Ronaldo
You can't have it both ways, like. If he was world class a few yards on a pitch and Jonas Gutierrez for company wouldn't make as much difference to him.
toondra
i was joking, for me cabaye is just a good player, i don't like the way he always try the assist direct to ba or cissé instead of being a real playmaker for the team. our midfield who was supposed to be one of the best of premier league according to some passionate fans is not good enough to raivalize with the big teams imo
MyPalAl
Thought he did not bad-ish. Can be a lot better, but not as bad as many are making out IMO
Toondave
Thought he was quite good today with all things considered. So far this season no one has really covered themselves in glory, Bigirmana and Ferguson are looking promising mind. None of the first team players, with the exception of Ben Arfa perhaps, have looked as good as they did last season yet but they'll come good. aussiemag
No team in the premiership play with a standard 4-4-2 anymore. It doesnt work, its more important to win the midfield battle. Man United rarely play a 4-4-2 in important games, Man City the same, Aresnal never play a 4-4-2, Everton play a 4-5-1. To copmete with the big guys you need to put the extra man in the midfield to allow our better technical players, Cabaye and Ben Arfa the freedom to change the game,
ATB
He wasn´t bad, but he wasn´t good either because he´s just not showing. He´s supposed to be our main man in the middle. Therefore he got to do more than just run about a little bit.

Not when the opposition is lining up like this it doesn't..... http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2012/10/7/1349633027948/graphic-001.jpg I don't care if you have the 2 best midfielders in the world you would struggle with all those numbers around you.... it's nothing to do with being WC or not it's due to being outnumbered by the opposition in midfield..... it's no coincidence that Cabaye has performed when we have matched the opposition up in midfield. We could have had Xavi and the best DM in the world instead of Cabaye and Tiote and we still would of struggled, we improved once we switched to 3 because we could compete with the numbers game. It's stupid to ignore him being outnumbered and say if he's this he'd be fine, it's quite frankly utter rubbish. One of the main reasons we must play 3 in midfield a practically every team does. Guest hydeous
Could have worked either way though. Given that we had Ferguson and Santon on their stronger sides (only in terms of crossing), we could easily have broken at pace down the wings and crossed in a few for goals. The problem was that we started too slowly early on. We really have been good at defending set pieces in the last year or so. If that had worked out yesterday, maybe it'd have been Man Utd making the formation changes trying to keep up with our game instead of us putting 5 in the middle. The added width gave us more options and possession but not much going forward. Jonas more central and Ben Arfa being more advanced would have done more good imo
