TRon
If Debuchy suddenly decides he wants to leave as well, are we going to treat his case differently to Cabaye? It might be a better idea to either force both to honour their contract or let both go.
Guest Phil K
Yeah, I really think we could do without losing another player, like. Its as if Ashley and Kinnear are just trying to spitefully GOAD the fans. Cutting of their noses hypothetically to spite their faces. We WILL go down without a whimper at this rate. As for Debuchy, I'd guess that many fans would pay for his airfare.

If he's not fussed then we should really try and keep him.
Dokko
http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/premier-league/30664-nufc-news-no-new-cabaye-bid.php Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has insisted the club are yet to receive any new bids for midfielder Yohan Cabaye after turning down a £10 million offer from Arsenal on Monday. The Magpies labelled Arsenal’s bid for the France international as ‘derisory’ but it is understood the Gunners will return with an improved offer before the transfer window shuts on Monday 2 September. French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in landing the 27-year-old but Pardew has revealed neither club has made a new bid for Cabaye. He said: "I think the situation with Yohan is an ongoing situation and we will take each day as it comes. "There's been one bid and I've turned that down, and that's really all I'm going to say on that."

ScottishMagpie
Has he been training or has he been at home picking up a wage while we actively try to sell him? when does the official site put up (inspirational) pictures of training before match days? Should be easy to spot. His head's been turned so he should look like that lass fae The Exorcist.
AyeDubbleYoo
Has he been training or has he been at home picking up a wage while we actively try to sell him? Assume he's been training as normal, since he travelled for the Arsenal game. Dunno though.
Guest reefatoon
He must be a right fragile little poppet if he can't play football because another team want him. Give him a brisk slap across the chops and tell him to get out there and perform until we agree to sell him to someone, the little mincebag.

r0cafella
I wonder if Cabaye's head is still turned? Pardew seems to love that line, If Cabaye isn't in the squad for saturday I'll be convinced he's being kept out by the club to keep him to sell him. After all the Club are doing everything apart from announcing to the world we want to sell.

Ste
There is absolutely nothing we can offer to make him stay at this point. World Cup year, we've strengthened very little while letting a few go out the door, Pardew is manager with the added bonus of Kinnear running transfers. The club is being run like a joke, just when it looks like we might have a bit positivity qualifying for Europe, it quickly descends into farce and our own manager says he's glad we've not got Europe to contend with again. No ambition. We will be left with players who have none either, and there's only one way the club will head when that happens.

They want to cash in sadly, the numerous mentions of "can't compete with" "powerless" etc are total crap. If the club wanted him to stay the stance would be not for sale at any price. AyeDubbleYoo
We don't have to offer anything to make him stay, he's already agreed to his current contract. As you say though, we might want to sell if the price is right.
krybel
But if we make him stay, he has to perform to stay in the France squad for the world cup.
TRon
He should have been told he'll be allowed to leave if another club comes up with the right offer, until then he has to play as normal. That's how it would be at most other clubs, it's bizarre that we lose players because other clubs make an offer on them. What if this happened to 5 or 6 first team players? Would they all just put their feet up and say, "sorry boss but I think I'll miss this one"?
