sempuki
Newcastle United GFN @NewcastleGFN 19m Newcastle have rejected another 23 million euro bid from Arsenal for Yohan Cabaye. #NUFC [FranceFootball] Yeah - right!
Taylor Swift
That's £20m. There's no way we're rejecting that.
Oakie Doke
it's actually £19.78m
Guest
Plus Ashley has to go to Eurochange in Eldon Square to get that into pounds so he'll only see about £16m. They'll have to up their bid.
Keefaz
Anyone else think Cabaye is a lot less sexy these days? He's a fucking minger.
Guest bimpy474
Mike Ashley @MoneyMikeAshley 6m If Cabaye so much as breaks a toe-nail over the next few days ill have a fucking heart attack. #NUFC
Guest Haris Vuckic
That's £20m. There's no way we're rejecting that. Arsenal have just revealed cash reserves of £180m - which is more than the rest of the league put together apparently. So yeh - they might just but they've been trying to shift him all summer I suppose so who knows? They pushed the Carroll sale right to the end. Pilko
I really don't think we'd turn down £20m like. If we have then we're fucking mental.
Mole_Toonfan
I really don't think we'd turn down £20m like. If we have then we're f***ing mental. Unless we don't plan to spend a penny of any income and want to push it as close to deadline as possible for panic profit !
TRon
Newcastle United GFN @NewcastleGFN 19m Newcastle have rejected another 23 million euro bid from Arsenal for Yohan Cabaye. #NUFC [FranceFootball] Yeah - right! Arsenal would cry all the way to the bank to pay £13m never mind start throwing bids of £20m around. They won't go much above what they've already bid IMO. jdckelly
I find it hard to believe Arsenal would bid that much and even dafter that we would reject it and not got something like this http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x168/Dexter_Power/ConkerMoneyEyes.png
Mick
I really don't think we'd turn down £20m like. If we have then we're f***ing mental. We've probably told them to come back in a few days so we can't spend it.

sturla
Why isn't Fellaini on a strike like our vice-captain Mr. Cabaye? Sure everybody would understand that he would like to play for a club fighting for a title and is playing CL football. Those Belgians never understood proper behavior.... Guest Haris Vuckic
Is he on strike or is he being told he can't play? Never underestimate the utter twattishness of this regime.

If he was being told not to play, his agent would be out telling everyone. Why would he sit quiet and let the club say he is refusing to play if he isn't? He is just being a little huffy c*** as usual.
henke
Every car i've ever bought, the haggling over the price has taken no longer than 5 minutes. How come a footballer can take weeks to sell?
jdckelly
Every car i've ever bought, the haggling over the price has taken no longer than 5 minutes. How come a footballer can take weeks to sell? well we are talking about millions here, for example a 10m gap between our asking price and arsenals bid, you might be there for a while if you opened your haggling at half the price on display
henke
If a car is marked up and £20,000 and you offer £10,000 you'll be laughed at and told to jog on. So one of two things happens, you find a different car for £10,000 or you come back with a serious offer. But it takes minutes, not weeks.

Soon to be ex-players get called all sorts. Colo is no longer being called every name under the sun any more, I note.

Guest reefatoon
It's a game of brinksmanship. Arsenal let the deal lie for a while to see if the player kicks up a fuss and we agree to sell, we wlet the offer lie/refuse it, to see if they either up their offer or someone else comes in with more money. With being so close to the door absolutely slamming shut, it's a case of who holds their nerve the longest. (which will be us as we don't want to spend it anyway). Worst analogy ever. Not really. You know before you enquire what you think the thing is worth, and what you're prepared to pay, which is exactly the same as the situation Arsenal are in.
